  • Day 1 done for me :D

I've put on 7 pounds in a fortnight

Mrs BHB is wetting herself as my clothes don't fit any more! :o
That's not very debt free wannabe is it?

I used to be just over 8 stone when we met, when I changed jobs a few years ago. I then started drinking a lot of the wobbly stuff. I was 11 stone five today ....... well I always said 8 stone for a bloke just wasn't right :rotfl:

I have nearly reached my goal of 11.5 stone so guess I will have to stop the beer after all ;)

    Best Wishes
    Hope everyone is doing OK

I should be safe now - never start this late. Updated my sig already! Looking forward to staying awake to the end of Jonathan Creek. This is my first hangover-free AFD in WEEKS. Amazing how much I've got done....so much time!.....a bit worried about what'll happen when I've run out of things to do. That'll be a few days yet; I may have overdone my "preparation" of doing no housework for ages so I'll be able to keep busy today! But I do think the single biggest reason for drinking so much at home is....boredom. I need a hobby which doesn't involve having to get a babysitter or drive in the dark, or indeed physical exertion. Jigsaws? Knitting? Yawn? I'll work on it....
Hope everyone OK for the rest of the evening; back tomorrow x

take them out of the house now.

you're at huge risk now and getting rid is the easiest thing to do if you want to start off well.

small steps that help make a huge difference

Has all gone to Mil's....she thinks its xmas/birthdays all rolled into one:rotfl:

I've had a lovely day 6 mile walk and a huge roast and no alcohol even though everyone else was drinking :D

We're just having a break from the monopoly........may even have to resume tomorrow, can't wait to watch Jonathan Creek...oh used to love watching it, just hope this new one is as good:T

If I don't get to pop back in later I hope you all have a fab AF evening and look forward to seeing lot's of 1/31's in the morning :D

    Take care

hi fifi, i was a bottle of wine a night, and to be honest it was habit. i thought that there was no way i could be without it. i cleared every bit of booze out of the house and moved my wine glasses out of sight. i changed my routine and planned meals out in advance so i had something else to look forward to (i am bit sad like that!). i also bought loads of things like oranges and fruit that needed peeling and would occupy my hands. i bought loads of herbal teas and then on weekends i bought special deserts and chocolate for a treat . i ve been pretty rubbish over xmas but knowing that i can do it is motivating me to do again.
the difference you feel is amazing. suddenly you wake up in the morning and your head doesnt hurt and your skin isnt dehydrated and your eyes arnt blood shot. please keep posting, everyone is great and we'll support each other when it gets tough xx

Well.I made it.Xmas and new year alcohol free.Yippeeeee.
It was so good to wake up on New Years day without a hangover and last night I didnt even feel the need to raise a glass at midnight. We just had a curry and stayed up to watch the fireworks. It was lovely.I have also noticed that DH doesnt seem to be drinking as much now as he did.(maybe he is trying to cut down too ,but not telling me;) )
Its great to see everyone on here today and I wish you all the best for 2009.I really hope that this time next year YOU too will have woken up unhungovered.
