Evening all, just sat here watching nigella AF again, altho watching her pour a glass of red to eat with her tea made me think how nice how, normal they make it look. Then in reality don't drink daily.
Short week at work thankfully so looking forward to 2 days off and bake away ready for hols.

AF weekend seems impossible to me!! didnt drink as much as i normally do (so am cutting down) but still drank more than i should. : (
Nothing is impossible. You just have to link enough pain to drinking and you will change, at the min you get more pleasure from drinking than pain. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Happyshopper, M'aam ... Ld reporting for duty.
Am pleased to announce yet another AF DAY:T
My first day in the new job was fandabbydozy - I really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly, the kids extremely well-behaved and well-mannered and my little Food Technology room is looking rather brill, if I say so myself.
Onwards and upwards.

Don't buy drink, just for today.
Buy some tomorrow if you want, but for today just have an AF day.
You may feel differently.
You know that buying it will make you feel crap, and that will make you drink it. So don't buy it.
This is alcohol we are dealing with, and as alcoholics, it is natural that we think of it/obsess over it. The key is not to act on it, and not drink it.
The debating society goes a bit quiet after a few weeks AF, and then shuts up entirely when you have changed yourself.
thank you! for this - i read it and read it again and thought it is all true, i went to the shops and didn't buy any alc, bought myself some nice pop type drinks and some fresh fruit and thought that i go to supermarkets and shops that sell alc quite a lot and i have to learn to control myself and not buy it - i actually have quite a lot of whisky, brandy and spirit type alc at home left over from what suppliers send at xmas, but they do not interest me at all, of course all the bottles of white wine, have gone, drunk before xmas i think!
thankyou for everyone for all your advice and you can put me down for 5 days now:j0 -

thanks nireland....am cutting down though significantly, for me anyway. today i came home and put the kettle on (previously unheard of as i'd crack a beer open), and had some green tea. i have drunk 2 cans of carlsberg tonight.
in general i'm feeling better. pills are kicking in and although i'm not AF ive cut down. I've certainly not been hungover since my stint in hospital. x:cool:0 -
and i dont mean the above to be an excuse....but its all i've got!!! xx0
