Hi Glasgow girl good to see you back

3 is good well done you:T29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
Oh and just found this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHYT1bf0i_I
I used to dance around the room holding my son and singing this to him. :happylove
In those days I never felt the need to drink, isn't it funny how it creeps up on you. I think for me loneliness is/was my trigger especially when my son went to university. Guess I need to find myself some different life now and a different focus?
Big Sister Singstar? Is this like Karaoke? If so do you have a video of yourself doing this? :rotfl:Now thats entertainment. :T I sadly lead a sheltered life.
Ok I'd better let someone else play now.
Hugs xxxxxxxxxxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home

Err looks like I spoke too soon about 5 days and no booze.
In my defence I was honestly not expecting to go out last night so.... Anyway my brother who I dont see as often as I would like on account he lives in Swindon and I live in Exeter. He was down in Exeter working yesterday and his boss stood him up for the evening meal so he gave me a call and we went out to one of my favourite resturants Tiger Bills.
2 pints in there and a couple of large vodkas afterwards mean yesterday is a failiure in the sobriety stakes but if my drinking continues to be of the special occasions and occasional family visits variety then I'm sure my liver will thank me for it.
Still. No beer expected this evening on account of theres none in the house and I am definately not going out tonight
If I make 6 days out of 7 this week (no reason why not) then thats still more sober days in a week than previously in any average three months.
Thanks all for the supportive words. It's muchly appreciated.0 -
That's me Mr Muttley, sticking to evenings out/weekends/special occasions. That leaves me a lot of scope for drinking but means I can be a (fairly) serious 'cutter-down'. The sadder the life I lead the less I drink!!
Tonight I was out at cinema and didn't get in until gone 10 p.m. I could have had an unplanned AF day but I chose not to. I'm not a regular cinema goer but where I went people were bringing wine to their seats (plastic wine 'glasses'). Is this normal?? Thanks to Kudzu (or maybe MSE) I had no cravings for a drink so just enjoyed a Green & Blacks Organic Chocolate Ice Cream!!
Goodnight and sleep well, to angels and devils alike.0 -
Morning all!
TRC is up bright and early to prepare for the tournament. There is a surprising amount of preparation for these things...
Big Sister - I was AF yesterday so thats 3/7 for me. ANd it means that I got extremely close to the 21 units recommendation. Most of those were consumed in one day though, although split between lunch time and evening
Jo - keep up the good work, you're rocking and rolling now.
Budgie - thanks for that song. :kisses: I haven't heard that in Aaaaaaaaaaages! Used to know all the lyrics
but the intervening 18 years  mean I can't keep up with it quite so well. I think I may have done it on singstar in the past. Its not one of the easier ones
NTC I will try and be a better RC and try and de-tag my devil status for an angelic one
Have a good day.
TRC
p.s. Miss Piggy - sorry to hear about your Mum, I'm sure you'll sort things out.

morning all!
today's thought.....of all the things you can do, controlling your drinking is one of the most significant ways of changing other people's lives around you.
Or, looking at it another way....if you overdo it regularly, it is frightening how many lives you can affect....
for me, taking control of it was one of the best things I ever did.
take care! For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
Morning all
Hope everyone is well.
YM - good to hear you are lurking
TRC - thanks, am sure me and mum will talk soon
Bis The taking control thing is very true. Its what i'm trying to do (not always successfully!) but I feel I need to have that control in my life now.
Well, the party went fine. I had a nice time with my friends and was quite happy to stay sober and jump in my car and go home at the end of the night. And today I have a clear head, no feelings of shame or embarrassment over anything I might have done, and I'm happy (ish!)!
Haven't spoken to my Mum yet. Putting it off till later as its a nice day and I don't want to spend the rest of it feeling upset. Hopefully we will speak later and we'll be ok. Its her birthday next saturday and I really want her to have a good time.
Have good sundays all!
Miss P
