Oh hell, no wonder I think avena sativa is great if its related to this!!! Am relying on you Fay for guidance here?!! Maybe GC is right- change your life and the need to drink will go naturally? Personally I think I have the sort of personality that will always need to drink, I'm just managing not to at the moment and thats hard enough. Just found out from my dad that nearly every male in his family had a drink problem (don't know much about my grandad as he was a violent alcoholic and my dad has never really told me much about him)- my dad seems to have been able to resist it, but I haven't- weird.
Hope everyone is where they want to be this morning- best of luck today guys.0 -

Sorry BB went off to find you some toilet roll, but saw that one and couldn't resist
Not AF last night, in fact heavier session (in my > 3 drinks category)
Felling good to go this morning though. I opened a bottle of wine last night, and wasn't going to finish it off, but I did because I won't be drinking tonight. The rugby team has a tournament tomorrow and we've got to be there for 9am. And its a fair drive away too.

The two plants are as far apart (Avena and Kudzo) as cheese and chocolate - so I pathetically wondered how the effects were the same.

I'm no expert but I have noticed that they both make me put on weight...:D

Morning all

I did drink last night - as I said I would, but had one drink less than a 'normal' Friday night. I found I was drinking much more slowly than usual too
Will have a couple of glasses of wine tonight and probably tomorrow too. I am deliberately trying to stay within 14 units and I reckon I will do that easily [with the help of Kudzu] My aim is to drink within 14 units at weekends only
At my very worse a few years ago I reckon I must have been having 70 units a week  before I started to gradually cut down, but even 2 weeks ago I was drinking up to 42 units a week
So to get to 14 a week and stick at that from now on will be a huge achievement for me  The Kudzu is definitely helping - it is NOT all in the mind, and is making this so much easier
I am starting AF again on Monday and this time will try for 4 AF days
Good luck today everyone xx

Morning all
Still on 4 AF days though last night was one of my 'planned' days. Didn't every drink as much as usual (just over half a bottle of wine). Tonight will defo be AF but Sunday is usually a danger day for me as i love a glass of wine with my sunday dinner and then some more:rotfl: Anyhow 5 AFs for me now.Payment A Day £15 (started 17/5/14) :j0 -
Morning all
Mr Muttley, welcome  congratulations on 5 days af, I presume it's 6 now? Do you feel better for it?
Betty, be positive about the days you've had AF rather than the bottle of wine you had
Eselt, I'm glad the stuff you got has a positive effect on you. I'm a little worried about your comments though....you crave and think about alcohol all the time but you've not drunk in over a year ('cept one mulligan
), that's awful and scares the life outta me
BB, glad the dentist went well, I've got to ring for an appointment for next week, it makes me go weak thinking about it _pale_ I'll have to try and find out when the Ronnie/Danielle story is gonna break, my mate works on the show but she's usually tight lipped!
FB, glad to hear Kudzu is working for you too, I'm seriously considering it now!! Thanks for updating us on your progress on the stuff!
Fay  hellooo
Ophelia, maybe after you have the AF March you might not want to be a cutter-downer but an abstainer!!
Stroppy, congrats on the smoking, I did have a wander over into the smoking thread and saw you are doing so well. I found quitting the fags much easier than the drink, I guess it's different for everyone but what do you think? Keep up the fantastic work
GC, thanks for your wise words as usual
Noynoy, good luck for getting an AF day this weekend
Morning Boysma
TRC,
laughing at the smilies :rotfl: good luck at the rugby tomorrow
NTC, could you put me down for 6/6 please

two smallish glasses of wine last night followed by a cup of tea. Maybe there is something in this Kudzu. Am a real sceptic on drugs for habits normally but have to conceed that this either has a brilliant placebo effect or it actually does what it says on the tin.
Have a great weekend everyone29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
I really struggled with last night being AF. I won't be AF today as I'm seeing my sister and will have a few tonight.
I am interested in this stuff that helps control alcohol cravings, hmm I might look into it.:j

jo,
it does get easier...I'm just mildly bemused by it all., looking back...still have the odd thought about it but it would burn me in so many ways that I won't....by rare I mean in a kind of "once a day for a few seconds" way, just like you think about a sad event in your past....a small moment of discomfort for a day's freedom.
assumed 31 days for March is spot on. so far so good.
my big fear now is the new drinks they keep bring out that seem so enticing....
remember..."know your enemy"...recognise your weaknesses and address them until the battle you fight is easier.
take care everyoneFor what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

Hi Jo, never meant to spook you- really sorry, but its true, I do still think about alcohol all the time, one of the best peices of advice I ever had was Bis saying constant vigilance, thats what its like for me, I just have to accept it as the alternative for me is giving in to it and being a hopeless drunk and I can't go back to that.
Jo you are doing amazingly, and everyone else, good luck this weekend.0
