    Hi All

Struggling a bit with finding a way to reply to all and keep up with all posts. Support on here is great. :T

Still alcohol free for me. Many thanks to all responses to my ramble about possibility of drinking more on non-AF days. I'm still toying with the idea of being a cutter downer but for now I am happy to stick to an alcohol free March, which will give me a very clear head to think through the whole thing. I think that ultimately I would aim to cut out mid-week drinking and ideally not crave it or be thinking constantly about it.;)

Anyway, going to attempt some replies, but it's taking a while to get to know you all so forgive me if I get peeps mixed up etc.

Sclyates - wanted to say welcome to you. New here myself but it's a good place to be

winebox - good for you in finding out what one of your triggers are (OH) ! Finding out what our triggers are will certainly help you to prepare and deal with them.

stroppy - well done on stopping smoking as well as tackling the drinking. It's very hard to do both and I admire you.

Mr Muttley - welcome to you and good luck in your challenge. Sounds like you have got off to a great start and seen the financial benefits already.

Fluffybishop - congrats on getting through your first week of trying to cut out mid-week drinking. I think this is my aim too long-term. I want to be comfortable enough to drink in moderation.

Off to watch the latest episode of 'Lost' now - with my diet coke. :D

Sorry I did plant taxonomy for my post grad - we planty folks babble in plant speak without thinking sorry.

Grasses are I suppose grasses TRC - Avena is an oat and one we grow up here for research

Legumes are the pea and bean family (Leguminosae) I don't know the plant Kudzo so I can't say much the only bits I saw as that its a climbing legume -

The two plants are as far apart (Avena and Kudzo) as cheese and chocolate - so I pathetically wondered how the effects were the same.

Will do some digging and find out - best thing about research is that you get access to scientific journals - so can have a ferret and see what they have in common.

Just got me interested as I do plants :D

Sorry if it sounds a bit anal - x

    Hi All

Why is this soooo hard to do!!! Last night OH was away and I managed to polish off a whole bottle of red wine all by myself, what's even worse is that I called at the shop on the way home from work to buy it so it was totally planned.

On the upside I did manage to be AF on Wednesday, that's a total of 2 AFD's for me now. Must work harder at this, but maybe after the weekend

Because we have serious issues with alcohol, and are not good at managing life.
Take away the alcohol, and many of the problems of life are still there.
Thus stay alcohol free for a long time, and then change your life.
Then you don't crave or even want alcohol. :j
