The giving up/cutting down alcohol support thread! Part 2

Do you mind if I ask how you coped with losing weight and pouring lots of calories down your neck? Do you live on a few leaves?
Well, I could never have cut down on food AND drink at the same time, so I did a bit of both!!
I have stuck to 1000 calories of food per day - all low fat and very healthy types of food, and allowed myself 250 - 375 alcohol calories on top
 [now going to be much less!!]
Plus I had to start exercising as dieting alone just didn't work for me after the age of 40 :rotfl: :rotfl: I hate exercising but I do it at home and use an exercise bike. I use it Mon - Fri for as long as I can manage in half hour sessions. It has worked for me - I have so far dropped 3 - 4 dress sizes and aim at dropping at least 1 more size and getting my BMI into normal range. I am getting there......bit by bit

Thank you xx0 -

Hi housemates :hello:
Housemate Budgie checking in on day 5
Only worked half a day today and went to a pub for lunch, if you can call it lunch? The giveaway being as you walked in there were posters everywhere advertising for a new chef. Ok at that point we should have gone elsewhere but it was late and I was starving etc. So lets just say we won't be returning and on top of that they had NO GINGER BEER
so I ended up with a small bitter lemon. Did briefly consider a red wine but thought of my challenge so the thought stayed in my head.
Well with having to check in with Big Sister too (she is getting very tough don't you think?) So BsNtc 5 outta 5 for me please and of course you know I am an ANGEL :A (I can think of a few devils though
)
Lots a love and good luck with the weight loss and with joining a fitness course, I joined the gym with a friend which helps I find because its more motivation to keep going as you are letting someone else down if you don't go. Is there perhaps someone that could join with you for support? If not I find that there is always people in the same situation and its a good way of making new friends. So I wish you well, and post how you are doing? We can all give you encouragement :T Hugs xxxxx
Will catch up with the posts now but wanted to say: Dear Lurky re: the ill fitting trousers as you know already! That it is down to too much STOTTIE CAKE :rotfl:Hugs to you the: Lovely Esther and the family. xxxxx

Hi everyone
Just popping in to say I'm off the booze for the forseeable for two reasons
Its been expanding my waist for a few years now and I worked out how much it was costing me when i reaslised the manure had hit the airconditioning a bit with the finances.
I like a drink but I need to save some real money for a couple of years.
/edit: Just had a thought. As I'm a newbie to this thread I thought I'd put a couple of sentences in about what my drinking has been like. I'm very much "a few drinks in the evening after I get home from work" sort of guy. I didn't used to drink a lot although I used to smoke a bit of cannabis every few days but I quit smoking everything for the sake of my lungs. Instead I would have a couple of drinks and I got to the stage where I was drinking a few beers everyday. In the process combined with getting an office job I have put on about 4 stone in the last 10 years.
I never really had any problem not drinking if I decided not to for whatever reason other than feeling a bit moody for a couple of days. I guess thats somewhere in the "got a bit of a habit" zone.0 -

Ok, 'danger period' is over for today and I have had AF DAY 3 today :j
That's it for me for the week now  . I will be drinking [in moderation
] for the next 2 .......or 3 nights. Back to AF on Monday
Am hoping to manage 4 nights AF next week
I am still pleased though - that is 3 out of my target of 8 for the whole of March and it is only the 5th of March :j I haven't had an AF day for a few months until this week so I do feel a sense of achievement and am also drinking less on non AF nights which is also good :j
