13 for me please WB. I have decided that with a mere 2 days to go I am going to hit my target. Id like to say its because I want to stay AF but im afraid my motivation lies in petulance at the thought of not getting a jumping smile:o ah well it works for me. Note to self get some in the bag early in March then I have flexibility:D After work "lunch" today and I would really have liked to have a glass of wine but I will keep that smilie in mind and order a coke:o

Have a great day all the end is in sight :j :j (oops sorry they snook in:D )

Lurkio your right it is me so i will now rush and get my book for you and Esther :)

  • or as mad as a bunch of mad march hares?

    my favourite is

'as mad as a bag of weasels' but that infers rage rather than madness

how about in true blackaddery styley - 'as mad as a bunch of mad march hares on a mad day in the middle of a mad march fest in madsville'
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

    I knew it! Anarchy!!!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAPPY SHOPPER

JO - what is it with the dreams? I've had bad ones for 2 nights running now (hint hint another AFD yest.) - last night was terrible, really shook me & can't even talk about it. I've not been woken up by nightmares for about 25 years....usually I sleep really soundly whenever I have an AFD so this is unheard of for me...is it "something in the air"? (for the oldies - who sang that?).

The scores on the doors (back to Anthea  ) will be up soon.

Hi Stroppy (my middle name in real life :rotfl: )

Thank you all so much for the warm welcomes :-)

Well first cigarette of the day just smoked.....I have somehow completely managed to talk myself out of giving up until monday now ( My brain seems to work on the theory I could never possibly give anything up at the weekend and monday is a better day,why I have no idea)
Strangely after a full bottle of wine last night I woke up feeling fantastic, again a trick I think into fooling myself that its not a problem for me.....
I think the main problem I have is I cannot visualise my life without either wine or cigarettes.....but looking in the mirror something needs to give.I talk myself into things so easily though, for instance of a morning I think no drink for me tonight....it will do me good,by 7.30 ive convinced myself ah what the heck I deserve to relax! The worst is if I do have an alcohol free night OH will decide that will be the night hes having a beer and so I think well if hes having one so am I.......and so on it goes!

This is the story for all of us on here I think, definately me. I normally wake up and think 'wish I hadn't drunk last night' then 'I'm def not gonna drink tonight' then by 2pm get excited kinda buzzes about buying beer and drinking that night, by then the seed is planted and there is no way round it. I have found all through my drinking relationship which has spanned 16 years now, that it's only when I hit rock bottom that I can get a day 1 under my belt (which I did on Saturday night :o ). If I were you, I'd write a list of pro's and con's of drinking. Don't let anyone tell you there aren't any pro's cos you wouldn't do it if it didn't do anything for you. Then weigh it up. Good luck :)
