Got a bit of a problem today. Wasn't even going to think about having a drink tonight. My OH has abstained from alcohol all week too because he wants to lose some of his belly and also save a bit of money and this has helped me too. However, the shopping has been delivered today including a bottle of red and a bottle of white. I can't drink either colour because Im allergic and can only drink organic wine (less sulphites in it). However OH has already said he intends to have a bottle of white and if OH is drinking I know I will start thinking about Malibu/vodka and want to join him.
This is the key. You want to drink. Him drinking is giving you a handy excuse.
Don't be a slave to alcohol. Think how good you feel when you don't drink.
Just don't have that first drink0 -

well...there's just one word really here...habit.
I lost track of the number of times I've given up...I always meant to and usually lasted about 18 to 20 hours and then my body was back into a cycle almost demanding its fix.
Habit is such a ppwerful force that you can find yourself doing so many thigns without really thinking about it...even down to the job you've kept for years because that is what you do......
well done for coming on here...gotta goFor what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -
Welcome aboard Stroppy its a very supportive place to be. Why not set a target of a few alcohol free days for March and see how you get on? I know for me that setting that target and reporting back here has really helped me achieve and go beyond where I wanted to be originally so its a good place to start
and yes I certainly do remember cherry b my mum used to love them but I was always a dubonnet and lemonade or cider and black teenager:D (or thinking about it....... babycham:eek:  )
Anyway well done for taking the first step its good to meet you29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
Welocme stroppy - hugs - xx

Oh shucks Miss P you beat me to it, tho I didn't need to google it.....not before MY time! I used to watch it every.......single........week
and laugh at it
And indeed, farewell to Miss Brahms, who died today (Wendy Richard).
Not before my time either, thanks for serving that blast from the past! Sorry!
Also thanks for making me smile over the stalker stuff. The good thing is I fall asleep on the sofa before can get to arguing but usually try to pick an argument hungover the next day instead.
Still sober so counting AFD 2 in lent so far. WB, glad I'm not the only one on a lent mission. I kind of only started thinking about all the tempting things coming up after I decided to do this. Thanks for the welcome back, appreciate it.
PS Fay, you were still on here at 10pm, hope you made it and the plants aren't totally bald!
PPS Hi Stroppy, welcome. Know how you feel but try not to beat yourself up. Tomorrow another day and all that.0
