  • Morning all, its 4/5 for me (will have a drink tonight I think) but i cannot remember the last time I was 4 days without a drink. Must be 8 years ago when pg. Thats awful but no matter, am trying now. Last night had a bath, put fake tan on, painted my nails etc and really enjoyed it. then I got the No7 Protect and Perfect case down that I got in the boots sale and started using it (Id been saving it for best!!!!!) So hopefully not only will I be hangover free, i will look 10 years younger!

    Its brilliant having this thread and reading everones stories and struggles. Makes me feel i dont want to give in or let anyone down. Thanks

    Morning all - grounded again! The novelty's wearing off now, esp since I heard it might be minus 10 tonight - surely it's not possible! Trying to keep the heating set a bit lower as it's on all day so wearing so many clothes can hardly move. I'm a bit too hot tbh!! This is costing me a fortune - 2 days off work, unpaid. Whinge! (new hobby). Sorry, inserts grin onto face.

    Haven't been here for 24 hours - thanks for your post yest. Eselt, nice one.

    Maman I agree with the time of year comment - hoping to resume early morning walks next week as it's been too dark since mid November & I feel so much better for it.

    Have agood day all!

    Morning all :D

    I am soooooo pleased to report 5/5 for me please winebox (6/6 for personal challenge)

    I cannot believe I am doing so well, if you all knew just half of the amount I used to drink, work lunchtimes as well !!! I am so happy I have found this thread, I don't suppose I am much help to anyone really, but I have found a lot of help on here.

    It is lovely to read how others are doing as well and good to see people dont' just give up after a slip up ( I may have one or two of them myself) but for the moment my liver is very happy :j :j

  • Hi BHB,

    Why don't you try a little reduction a bit earlier? It sounds like it is going really well for you! You could try moving to 5 for a couple of days before your next appt? Best of luck on your journey!

    I think the idea was to keep the intake steady at one level for a whole week, and then take it down a notch for another week etc.

    If I don't do that I hit withdrawal and crash and burn going back to how much I started at :o:o:o:o

    Definately stick with what they have told you, although it can be frustrating and you just want it all over as quick as poss, but the whole point of doing it this way is to get your body used to a reduced amount of alcohol for a decent time before you drop it again, otherwise you'll be feeling withdrawals more than you should...keep it up, you are doing great :T

    I just asked her - she said 'Not any more'

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Then she said - in the early eighties she had white tassled cowboy boots too
