    Good morning everyone

    5 for me please winebox!

Very snowy here today. Think I'm effectively stuck in for the day. Not sure if I'll be needed at work later....I work for a Parcel Carrier so not sure if the drivers will be going out today. Managed mostly ok yesterday but looks pretty deep out there.

Last night was difficult. We are having problem bedtimes with my little one since he was poorly the last time. And last night was worse than most. He'd had a long sleep in the PM (as didn't sleep much the night before due to being ill) so just wouldn't go to bed. OH was also driving me demented and it all blew up. At that moment I could quite happily have downed a bottle.

Luckily, we decided to calm it down. I snuggled on the sofa with little boy and a duvet and OH made us hot chocolate. I know I WOULDN'T have drunk a bottle...but only because I haven't got any in the house. Just shows we shouldn't get complacent.

GC I can understand a lot of your views and aggree with the majority of them. But I can also understand where Eselt is coming from. For those of us starting on this journey they can sometimes sound a bit know-it-all. Guess, for me, its just jealousy. I want to be the one saying those things!

Anyway...little one still asleep (surprise surprise) so I'm off for a nice coffee and to gaze at snow!

    Have good fridays all

    Miss P
    xx

    Hi BHB,

Why don't you try a little reduction a bit earlier? It sounds like it is going really well for you! You could try moving to 5 for a couple of days before your next appt? Best of luck on your journey!

I have not got The AC book - have looked at it - not sure it is for me - yet do have the PM I can make you sleep book - am a big fan of NLP and so far the CD is helping me get to sleep. Frequently wake at 4am still.

I have not managed a drink free evening - it is amazing how you can justify it - mine last night was that is is Lent soon so I will give up then!

Living so near shops with wine offers makes it hard - there has been some rumbling in the press that the supermarkets are using cheap booze to lure shoppers in, and change their supermarket. As moneysavers we really ought to know better as see through their cunning plan! It also shows that the supermarkets know where British shoppers weaknesses lie!

Recycling - someone mentioned that the whole street know how much you drink if you recycle - yup- there with you!

I think support and empathy is more helpful than lecturing and being told I have a problem. I already know that! I went to Aquarius once and felt totally patronised. NLP is much more effective. You are enabled to make positive changes, not told what to do and made to feel bad. We feel bad enough already - is that not why we drink?

Knowing I am not alone is helpful and that many of you are cutting back or giving up and sharing your experiences gives me hope. Thanks for the support and kind words.
  • Hi rovinia :hello:

Another fan of NLP here too and it is helping me loads:j I like the concept of being at cause in my life and with that in mind I can change the results I get. One of most important steps for me in this process was the decision to do the first AF day. That was one day back in November then it was January before the next one but then there were 16!!

I know some people are physically addicted to alcohol and thats a whole different ball game, but for me its a stupid habit that became part of my daily life and I was not happy about that. It isnt anymore:T I enjoy my days when I am having a drink and I enjoy the days I am not. I will not be complacent about this though which is why I am continuing my personal AF challenge for at least 3 months (probably more) The past does not equal the future :j

Good luck and let us know when you are planning your first AF day and we can rally the troops for tea and support:D

I'm still feeling a bit low today and I'm not sure if it is the weather and the depressing grey time of year as well. I used to love snow when I was younger and now I absolutely hate it! I can't wait for the Springtime.

I'm AF today so it will be 4/6 for me Winebox please.

    I hope everyone is okay.:A
