    Hi everyone,

Crikey, I must remember to read this thread every day - it's just taken me nearly half an hour to catch up!

Winebox, can you update me to 2 please.

I'm off to the footy tonight and am really going to try and hold out against the temptation that I know will be thrown at me! It's ok being 'one of the boys', but I'm going to have to draw the line at keeping up with their drinking!

Lots of posts to read through today. I am drinking tonight as well so only 2/4 so far Winebox please. I'm not drinking Thursday or Friday but I will be Saturday so that will be 4/7 days AF this week if all goes to plan. I haven't calculated my units yet I think I will do it weekly. I think I will be quite humiliated by the amount honestly!:o

    :hello: to the new people.

Fay - I'm sorry to hear about your anniversary coming up, and on Valentines Day too.:(

It sounds like other people are doing well, there are a few on 4/4.:A

Hi, I need to join in for both my health and wealth! Currently not working and in debt, have cut back so much on food and other expenses, that without the booze we would be better off. About to start a full on job where I will need my wits about me at all times. A hangover will not enable me to do this!

I start each day wanted to not have a glass or 10 of wine and even get to just about to serve up dinner when I dash out for the 2 for £8 deal at the local shop.

When I don't drink, I don't sleep. When I do drink, I sleep until 4am then lie awake tossing and turning. both leave me tired and irritable. The former however means my skin and eyes look dreadful and I can't concentrate so well.

I know I need to do this. I hate that my son sees me with glass in hand from 6 pm onwards.

    Advise, support welcome.
  • I have read this thread from start to finish and just wanted to say well done to all of you for being so honest and facing up to your challenges. :T

So many people on here have said the same, I thought I was the only one that had that problem until I read that so many people who drink have such broken sleep patterns.

    :hello: to Rovinia.

    Thanks Goochie!

  • Hi Rovinia and hello and thanks for the warm welcome. Its the easiest thing in the world to know what you should do, but with drink its incredibly hard to actually do it. I have set myself a target of 18/28 AF this month, so could you add me on and see if this public declaration will inspire me.

Oh and what inspirations you are, well done to each and every one of you x

  • Welcome aboard the Skylark Ravinia and Goochie.

    Re sleep patterns :

I had a disturbed sleep pattern last night - nothing to do with the beer .....

I woke up with Mrs BHB beside me, along with a three legged cat, a Springer spaniel and a Doberman laying on top of the bed. Luckily the other two dogs stayed downstairs ..... I could have been crushed :eek::eek:
