  • :rotfl: :rotfl: I am SO glad I found this thread, I truly am. I used to think I was the only one who posted insensible messages on forums and sent random illegible texts to friends at 3am :rotfl:

And Sea78 - yes, the whole coming down in the morning and thinking Winewise had been blown up and landed its contents in my kitchen... oh yes :o A typical morning for me, that. Trying to get out the front door as quickly as poss before the neighbours see down the hall and into the kitchen!!

We now have a recycle bin (an open box) so all the street's well aware of my problem by now, nice. Well worth £104 a month council tax, that.

Am feeling a little happier tonight even though yesterday's triggers are still hanging around. Had a shocking night's sleep last night - 2 night sober is a bit of a shock to the system I think!

Aiming for 3 tonight but we'll see, shop's open till 11pm

    Hope everyone's well x

winebox I hope your dog gets his op sorted out soon x

Edited to add - maman (I think!) thank you for that lovely comment about it being spring soon and going out with my new rescue dogs, when we finally get them!!!

    Evening all

Sea I'm going to add my voice to the "Oh, I've done that....." thing! Before I met my lovely hubby I was well known for ringing a certain ex at about 3 in the morning when I got in from a night out. He used to be very understanding !:o

Well, I started my Allen carr bhook, only for little Piglet to decide he was feeling better...so I had to get off my bum and go to work. Am planning on vegging in bed early with it tonight. Oh, I know how to live!

Can't believe I'm on day 4 and still resisting the lure of the off licence. Am so determined to do it this month.

PP Do you drive? Just think if you drink a bottle of wine tonight it will still be in your system till at least 10am tomorrow? It was one of the things that really shocked me. I now try and think of that when I'm tempted by a late night bottle. You are doing really well ...keep strong and add another day to your total!

Oh well, I'm off to cook dinner for OH (or send him up chip shop!:rotfl: )

    Miss P

  • Miss Piggy - yes, that is the only thing that really stops me drinking 7 nights of the week. When I work in the office (2 miles away) I usually lapse, even though I know if I get stopped I'll be over. But I usually work much further away (site based so different places every week) and there's a lot more chance getting stopped on the motorway. As I said though it doesn't always stop me when I'm at the office, though I know it should. I know. I know.

budget babe - aw. It's hard seeing doggies get older isn't it. Mine was 15 and 1/2 when she left us last September, though was pretty sprightly for her age!!

  • :hello: everyone,

Sorry I've not been around, one thing has led to another and I haven't got to a computer.

I'm past my trigger points for today now so 2/4 for me Winebox.

Just to recap, Sunday was going to be the day I finished off the winebox, but in the end I didn't :T Friends didn't come around in the end and I am so pleased that I managed not to drink. Was so tempted at 7pm but then said will wait 'til after dinner...and then will wait 'til friends arrived, and then they didn't make it so didn't drink in the evening :D But this was also the family get together day and as I was driving I just had one pint in the pub so technically not an alcohol free day. . A phsychological boost though...

The winebox got finished on Monday :o as we had friends around. A fairly heavy night, but more restrained that in the past. Need that control to continue.

    Yesterday and today alcohol free.

It has taken me ages to catch up with the thread. Been laughing a lot at some of the posts.

As this is already a rambling post, I will just say to Rovinia that I am a rubbish sleeper too. At times I have had a drink to help the sleep process. That doesn't help. Having managed 29/31 AFJ I am pleased to report that although I still don't get to sleep that quickly I am sleeping better. I still need to get up in the night for a leak, but importantly I now get back to sleep. In my drinking days, once I'd been to the loo at say 4am that would have been it and I would be tossing and turning 'til morning.

So progress is being made :T

    Take care everyone

Oh dear and there was me about to tell you all about the lovely new top I bought today with the money I've saved on wine in the last 3 weeks ;) Ok, no more girl talk!! :D

    Hi to all the newbies.

MissP - can't wait to hear your thoughts on the AC book. Mine's been despatched apparently. Having it sent to work and so am panicked in case someone else opens it by mistake and I have to do the 'It's not for me, it's for a friend - honest!" thing.

    Hope everyone else doing ok.

WB - 3/4 AF days for me please. Thanks xx

  • Gawd am on the grapefruit and lemonade and cant believe how hard this is. I am SO looking forward to having a glass of cava on Friday night. My trigger point is about 7pm when the kids are getting on my wick and I'm feeling tired. then I so want to open a bottle. Trying hard though and today will be my third AF day in Feb. I cant remember the last time I was 3 days without a drink. It feels good.

think kids were my final trigger...suddenly a bit of me changed and although it was positive, a small selfish part of me couldn't handle it so well...almost that I would forever have a little part of mind that cared about what they were up to....

then again...if ever I'm short of inspiration - I'm happy that my kids won't have memories of me being in a state in front of them.

    take care everyone
