    Morning all,

I feel awful. Although I planned to have one or two drinks last night that swiftly descended into more.

Why do I do this to myself? I got home at almost 1am and my alarm goes off at 5.30am. I think I may still be a little drunk (I don't drive to work).

Really let myself down. I even called my husband to say I was coming home at 12.30 although I knew he had to be up for work at 5am. The man is a saint putting up with me.

Still, I got home, in one piece and I do remember the whole evening- which is a rare thing.

So 3/4 AF days for me.....
    Saving for an early retirement!
  • mmmm just wondering if its possible to catch a cold from a thread:D Went to bed at 10 last night full of it and feel pretty carp this morning :( We have a bit of snow here for the first time:j not quite enough for a snowman but is does look cute out there.

Had a good laugh at the drunken late night texts/calls posts, been there done that one:rolleyes: Then as a reminder I was woken last night at midnight by a text from one of my friends from years ago deciding to say hi:rolleyes:  just desserts from my past I guess.
Sea glad you are ok, I thought you were very impressive for getting to work the next morning after your night, hope you didnt have to drive:eek:

So am back on track for half the month now with 2 please the lovely Winebox;):D

Hi, I need to join in for both my health and wealth! Currently not working and in debt, have cut back so much on food and other expenses, that without the booze we would be better off. About to start a full on job where I will need my wits about me at all times. A hangover will not enable me to do this!

I start each day wanted to not have a glass or 10 of wine and even get to just about to serve up dinner when I dash out for the 2 for £8 deal at the local shop.

When I don't drink, I don't sleep. When I do drink, I sleep until 4am then lie awake tossing and turning. both leave me tired and irritable. The former however means my skin and eyes look dreadful and I can't concentrate so well.

I know I need to do this. I hate that my son sees me with glass in hand from 6 pm onwards.

    Advise, support welcome.

I would suggest not drinking for a month or so, just so your body can re-adjust.
If that proves to be impossible, then you have some issues with alcohol that need addressing.
Some people cut down, others stop altogether.
If you are in debt, and feel crappy, I would stop altogether. If you cannot do that, you may need to see a doctor, or go to AA.
Good news is you realise you have an alcohol problem, and you sound willing to do something about it. Well done

Oh God Bis, you always make my justification for drinking SO WRONG!!!!

    Thank you :)

Is there ever any real justification?

Why do we hide behind alcohol? I don't know.

Be it a wedding, or a family member dying, we justify drinking. Silly really
  • Morning all!

    Winebox 4 for me please!

Snow has really come down overnight here so think we are indoors for the day. Have rung nursery to say little one not going in today and think they are grateful - very short staffed apparently.

Am pleased to be on day 5. Was reading Allen carr last night but didn't get far in as little boy was poorly again. Will try and get a bit more read today.

I was wondering this morning if drinking also makes you more emotional in day to day life. I'm normally easy to tears but actually managed to have a conversation this morning with my Mum about money (she was asking if we were managing ok with OH's reduced hours etc) WITHOUT bursting into tears and getting all drama-queenesque! Its either that or I'm growing up at last!:D

Imelda Don't beat yourself up over one night. Its early days yet. Last month I had good intentions and managed to blow them at every turn. Go easy on yourself!

    Have good snowy days all!

    Miss P
    xx
