  • Hi

Still on 24 for me. Did not drink last night but got muddled up on my counting. 26 full days gone in Jan and had a drink on 2 of them = 24 :D

Have a good day all and have now (according to Mr Wii ) lost 9lbs :D since new year

  • Welcome Ms London whatever route you decide to take, here is a great place to talk about the support is fantastic.

Winebox could you put me down for 15 days AF again in Feb (as you say that is actually a stretch compared to January with Feb being a shorter month:D ) Dont know if you will be tracking any other targets but for me I also want to make sure that my units are less when I do have a day off. No point being AF one day then drinking my body weight the next so I will be going with 21 units max per week.( ) I know it should be 14 for women but Im a big girl so reckon I can get away with being a pretend bloke for the purpose of this excersise:o Money wise that will be another £ 75 for me. No target for weight this time as I think I would need to diet as well and thats a bit much for me atm. (might save for Wii fit though YM has done so well)

Hope everyone is having a great day

As this is a money saving site should the February AFF list include money saved?

    Morning all

Well def an AF day for me yesterday. Felt rubbish all day after the excesses the night before.

I showed my list of reasons to stop drinking to my Hubby. He has always been teetotal so doesn't understand that I drink to much. He just thinks its normal! Anyway, showed him the list and he was quite concerned. He didn't realise I got memory blackouts sometimes (like sunday, couldn't remember anything after Dancing on Ice and apparently we stayed up till 11.30pm!!), didn't realise I got morning shakes after a binge etc. Scary stuff when you write it down isn't it? Makes you realise just how MUCH you drink.

So he's giving me his full support. I feel for my health, my weight and my mental well-being I HAVE to do this.

Anyway, on a lighter note...just talking to my Mum on my phone and she said Dad will be round shortly to do something on my computer....cue mad panic rush to get bottles into recycling before he see's them!!! Even ran down the recycle box in me socks......HOW old am I!?! :rotfl:

    Hope everyone is ok

    Miss P

Just for today - "Just for Today I will try to live through this day only and not tackle my whole life problem at once. I can do something for twelve hours that appals me for I do not have to keep it up for a lifetime."

That is so true, so pleased I saw this quote - and not just about alcohol either, but everything. Thank you graemecarter - just what I needed to see! xx

Hi guys, just a quick post to update my total, cos it seems to have lagged behind a bit with not having posted over the weekend. I'm now on 9/31 up to last night, but no drinking on the agenda at least until Friday. At the moment it looks as though I'll actually make my target, and to let you all into a secret, when I signed up for the AF challenge I didn't think I had a hope in hell of managing it!

    Hope everyone's ok x

Evening all, just a quickie as have visitors.
Just wanted to say to Jo that you are an integral part of this thread, please keep on posing along side us all - it is far more than keeping to targets and you need to do as you need to do but please don't disappear.
Hello and best wishes to everyone else, will catch up more later.

I am not going to be AF tonight. I was actually considering saying to you lot that I was going to be AF and then I thought that I'm doing this challenge for myself so what is the point in lying about it.:o

    Still on 14/27 then.

I hope everyone else is alright.:A

  • WB - can you put me down for 16 AF days in Feb please? Going to continue with being AF Sun-Weds, then move to Sun-Thurs for March I think.

I'm really fretting about Friday night. Going to a gig with a big-drinking friend. Arranged to meet at venue just before gig starts to minimise drinking time, but she wants to meet earlier and go for a curry - says she's really looking forward to a big night.

What do I do? I'm scared that if I start drinking, I won't stop and the night will spiral out of control. I seem to be a copycat drinker - I match my drinking to that of the person I'm with. So if it's a friend who only ever has 1 glass of wine, I'm really careful and would hate the embarrassment of being drunk in front of them. But with big-drinking friends, it'a like a licence to go completely wild and lose all control. Anyone else find that?

Not sure how to handle this. It's a gig that I've been looking forward to for months and now all I'm doing is worrying about it.

    xx
