    Hi all :)

I'm afraid I shall be leaving the AFJ challenge, cos it's all too much pressure for me to be counting the days at the moment, plus I'm failing miserably which is making it all the more likely to continue failing as I have no self esteem or confidence at the moment.

I will not be drinking today and that's as far as I'm going to go at the moment, hopefully I will be happy to join you all in Feb, if you'll have me. I will obviously still be sticking around and checking out your progress, you are all doing great.

GC thanks for your words of wisdom, they mean a lot to me today.
BB thanks so much for the poem for WB, my dad is my higher power in AA terms, I worshipped the ground he walked on, god rest his soul, and this poem has re-alighted a need to sort myself out, so thanks :)

    Afternoon all

Really hacked off with myself today. My couple of glasses of wine last night turned into a bottle and a half. Cue dodgy stomach, headache and shaky hands this morning.

Feel so stupid - there wasn't even a good reason for me to be drinking. Just didn't stop after the two glasses.

So Am back on the wagon today. The remaining half bottle was poured down the sink.

Will I ever grow up do you think?

Well done all those of you doing well on AFJ - hope those that are struggling (myself included) manage to keep hold of that wagon

    Miss P

Will read and catch up - am struggling too if truth be told, one glass of wine and that lead to another night of drinking last night(a bottle and a glass) yeah feel terrible, hormonal too - sorry TMI - it all gets a bit much. On wagon again today - feel terrible - mentally and physically.

WIll I ever learn, prob not - today a new day and sun is shining.

Love to you all, will read up later tonight and post again then, hope you are all good - Miss P and Jo - giving you both a hug xxx

Well done those who are doing great, keep up the good work, I will try harder xxx

  • A poor few days for me, not sure why, falling back into bad habits I guess.

Determined now to do the rest of the month AF.

Fayjmck your post was a carbon copy of mine! Why do we do it?? Guess we just have to try and learn from our mistakes and start again.

I hate the feeling of feeling like carp the next morning. Always feel like I've let myself down.

I've made a list of reasons today why I should stop drinking. And trust me, its a long list. So each time I waver I'm going to look at that list and remind myself why I need to stop. Hopefully it will work.

Hugs to everyone thats struggling...seems a bad few days all round.

I am having a few drinks tonight so I'm still on 14/26 Lurkio please.

There are only a few days left in this month and I want a couple more of them to be AF.

I'm sorry that a few people are feeling down at the moment. I still think it's great that people are even trying this challenge and noticing their own drinking patterns.:A

I have done better than I expected and want to try February as well.

  • Hi,

Jo - hope you're ok. Thinking of you.

I missed my goal of limiting it to a third of a bottle of red Fri and Sat but not by too much. The plan was to buy one of these wee bottles you get on planes each night, but of course bought a whole bottle on Fri night.

Was over half way in when I realised what I was doing - mindlessly knocking it back cos I was on my own. Poured some wine away so there was only a third of a bottle left for the next night. Felt a bit guilty but it was a £3.99 bottle (yep, skint til pay day on Friday!) so just let it go.

Still feel like I can't be trusted to be around booze - if it's there I'll drink it. But I guess at least recognising that is a start.

    xx
