Happy Birthday for tomorrow GP!!
Back from dinner - it was lovely. I had one of those big bottles of Bulmers in a frosted glass full of ice. It was gorgeous.
I so wish I could drink a proper drink and think "yuk...that's awful...pass me a Perrier" but I think hell will freeze over first.
Still, onwards and upwards - we're all doing really well.
WB: I'm amazed you're doing so well considering what you're going through right now - you have nothing to apologise for - you deserve a big slap on the back.

Hi everyone,
I started reading this thread over the weekend and have been thinking about it for these past couple of days. I'm at the point where I know I have to take control of my relationship with alcohol in order to have a better quality of life. Have been drinking way too much wine, far too regularly and waking up with too many hangovers/regrets to go on like this.
I'm aiming to not drink at all Sun-Weds and in moderation Thurs-Sat. Although I'm not sure how realistic the idea of moderation is cos every time I aim for it I fail pretty spectactularly. I think having support will make all the difference.0 -
Welcome aboard glasgowgirl - hope you find the support on here as helpful as I do.
I know exactly what you mean about too much, too regularly, and too many regrets the morning after.

:bdaycake: Happy birthday for tomorrow greypilgrim. I was alcohol free on my birthday a couple of weeks ago. Also for the first time in my adult life
. I'm sure you can do it. GOFRIT.:D
I have another dilemma coming up...:undecided Saturday we have been invited out to friends for a burns night/chinese new year celebration. I reckon there will be a few people there, maybe 8. It's one thing going out to dinner for a couple of hours and volunteering to drive. It's quite another going out in the village (i.e. where you can walk) and often these things don't finish to early IYSWIM. So I may have to partake of a few glasses of the red stuff, and settle for 30/31. After all, this will be well ahead of my target...
...haven't convinced myself yet. I'll have to wait and see how my resolve is later in the week, but at the moment I don't fancy my chances:sad:
But in the meantime 20/20 for me Lurky, old chap.
