Thanks BB ..... just lurking in the background :D

Way way over my target this week already so GC (I think it was GC?) was right in that at least one has slipped back this week.

On the plus side we have had some odd circumstances this week in that we have just rescued another small animal ..... a Doberman . This I think is mrs bhb's line of entertainment .

In our 3 up 3 down cottage along with the two 'herberts' (7 & 8) we now have 2 guinea pigs (the doberman hasn't found them yet :rotfl:), a 4 legged cat, a 3 legged cat, a budgie that won't shut up, a springer spaniel, a border collie, a Grand Basset Griffon Vendeen, and a doberman. .... along with me and mrs B.

Outside we have chickens, ducks, 4 pigs, 7 goats, 3 cats and a partridge in a pear tree .

Now why have I fallen this week :confused:

Seriously though - I aim to be back on my 'target mission' tomorrow. :A;)

Now if I could just get Sasha to stop trying to eat the pigs we might be in for a relaxing afternoon :rotfl::rotfl:

(Still - they are going to the abattoir on Tuesday morning so they only need to last until then :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)

    Edit: Bacon anyone ?? :D

  • maman Love your term "wagonette"!!! We are being towed by the giving upers I guess and its great to get their views and support when things are tough.:T

I don't think we are being towed by the giving uppers Needstochange. We are on a different journey. Probably the reason why Graeme Carter's messages sound blunt sometimes is perhaps he has been to or reached a place further down the road, before making his U-turn, than us cutter downers. Maybe thats why his, at times radical approach seems too much for us. It does to me but then i think about the differences between what we are trying to achieve.

I am looking forward to drinking on 1st February. I probably will be as we have a family lunch. The key for me is to return to moderation after this challenge is over. That is be free to drink whenever I want but actually not keep opening something everyday. I think that will work, but if it doesn't some other rules will have to be introduced e.g. not drinking in the week. We'll just have to wait and see what works in the end...

We are on a different journey.

all our journeys are unique and personal, so our solutions are all individual and specific to our own personal needs.

I have tried the not drinking during the week but couldn't toe the line...the difference between weekend and not-weekend became too much almost...and Sunday became Monday in the same way that Friday became Thursday...

even in my early twenties I had 4 pints on a Thursday evening because it was getting close to weekend.....and the same on a Sunday evening because it was still weekend.....

didn't help that my friends used to have the same amount at lunchtime on a daily basis...suppose you need to choose your friends wisely...I do now!

    keep well.

Was lurking (only way to keep up!) and couldn't resist joining in.

Can't claim credit for my 'wagonette'. I read it on another post and thought it fitted the bill beautifully for us 'cutters down'

Yellow monkey, I just adore your drinking smilie!!

To deal with the expanding weekend problem: I go out on a Monday evening to a class where nothing stronger than coffee is drunk. That sets me up well for some AF weekdays.

My aim is a bit like rugby coach. I want to get out of the habit of opening a bottle every night. This AFJ is helping me prove that I can do it. I'm not hard on myself. I'm allowing pub lunches and when I have holidays they certainly won't be AF. See you all soon. Enjoy what's left of weekend.
  • Hi all

Been popping in and out this week to check how you are all doing but this thread is soooo busy nowadays it is hard to keep track! Had a look at the scores on the doors - congrats 115K for achieving your target already and BHB for keeping to your target so far:T Keep up the good work everyone else, good luck for the rest of the month

My sister called round yesterday on the way to a boozy afternoon at her friend's house and I felt really jealous!!

But - I had a sip of DH's wine last night and OMG it was horrible!! it tasted really strong and made my throat burn (and it wasn't a cheap bottle in case you are wondering:rotfl: ) I was glad to get back to my lovely fresh orange with lots of ice!! I am hoping that my tastebuds have changed for ever and not just for the duration of my pregnancy !!... Speaking of which, I had my scan on Tuesday and all is well, our baby was moving around and has a healthy hearbeat - we are over the moon!!

    Love Shoppy xxx
