  • Happy Valentines Day everyone.

OH and I decided to sent ecard Valentines cards this year. I always feel that spending money on cards is a waste. I got up this morning to find OH making heart shaped toast. He is very romantic. Anyway we are going to have a day out at the folk park today as I have got a 2 for 1 voucher. £6 for a day out I think is very cheap. :T

PAD £5.00 of the halifax card.

    Have a good day everyone

how about social/residential care or community - youthwork?

That's something I'm thinking about - like everything else will need some work experience though. I'm sure I 'll find something at some point, just hope it's soon!

Another 50p for me today, going to work soon and it's going to be mad since the £20 food deal is on.

Thanks to everyone else who has given me a warm welcome - this is a nice thread and not scary to post in!:rotfl:

We don't really do Valentines Day either but I do like to send cards to my nephews cos it confuses the older one (7) and he gets all embarrassed!

  • Good morning and HAPPY VALENTINES to everyone :smileyhea

    My PAD for today well so far is £7.69;
    to MBNA.
As you know I have been padding to pay my barclaycard off the reason I picked this particular debt out of my massive mountain was that it was the smallest. I knew that it was not the most cost effective but I guess I just needed a results of sorts.
Last night I spent hours snowballing in between conversations with the family hence why it took me hours. I have now re prioroitised my debt based on the highest interest.
The first of these to tackle is MBNA as as of Mar 09 I loose my 0% deal and am on their standard of 34.9%. I cant get anymore cc's to benefit from any other deal but will stay on the case in case I come acroos something.

My debt with MBNA is £14156.88. I am aiming to pay this debt by Dec 2010; I know that this is a mssive stretch as this works out roughly to about £644 monthly and from this I deduct my minimum payment of about £360 whichleaves an extra £284 a month which equals about £10 a day. I hope its not too confusing as it is for me but basically my aim is to try to PAD £10 everyday on top of my minimum payment. If my thinking is totally messed up please let me know.
Hope you all have a great day and happy padding!!!

  • Well what a romantic lot we are. I love Valentine's day but I am a soppy romantic at heart. Greenbynature I think you are being hard on your OH he came up with the goods just enjoy it. Not sure about the e card though thankfully my OH does not know how to switch a computer on so I am safe from that.

Choccies and a lovely card for me.

No romantic meal though with 6 kids in the house this weekend that is just not going to happen. But as one of our foster kids who comes once a month insists on a strict routine, part of his condition, it is an Indian take away tonight I am not complaining. I have told him that if Wales beats England there is no take away because I shall be sulking. He has now indoctrinated my little twins to support Wales (far enough really as everybody else in the household is Welsh by birth except me).

£10 to halifax for me today. Letter from Barclaycard after my complaint saying they have closed my account no apology, no thanks for bringing the error to our attention so they can go stuff themselves but I have to ring them because of all the hassle I am £2.88 in credit and need to get it transferred so that the card can actually close. Still one more card gone. Also need to close my mint as I have a nil balance confirmed on that now (unless they offer a nice LOB deal).

Thanks for all the kind wishes re my sister she is doing OK. She doesn't live near me so it is telephone support at the moment but I hope to go and see her after the op.

Have a great romantic lovey dovey day love all the valentine smileys. I can't do them because I keep opening this in firefox instead of internet explorer,

    DTxx
  • Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

And a big kiss from me for everyone who didn't get a card - - I'm feeling the love today, so there's plenty to go around!

Me and the OH got each other lovely cards, and we are cooking for each other tomorrow - he's doing the main course, I'm doing the dessert. It will be good fun I think! I'm making an easy recipe I saw off 'This Morning' - Phil Vickery is the king of desserts!!

Anyway, PAD £1.14 for me today, to the Love-Egg card. lol! xx
  • been in bed with the flu for the last 2 days so have just

    PAD £50 to cc
 5 account to clear- £14580.47/£1074.90- 7.3% paid off
debt free nov 2012 before that I hope

    Yay!!

    Thank you very much :D
  • Paul: You do realise that they didnt feel sorry for you being alone at xmas, truth of the matter is they just didnt want you escaping the in-laws.Hey if I have to suffer so should everyone, its all part of christmas :rotfl: :rotfl:
Honestly though, it didnt bother you?
I guess im just used to a houseful with all the kids and extended family, dont think I get 5 minutes quiet EVER so to not have the noise would take a lot of getting used to
Sounds like you have some great friends and you dont sound lonely, if thats what makes you happy then thats great.

The thing that may sound really daft was that when I lived with a woman and her teenage sons, I felt lonelier there than I ever have on my own. I was just on a totally different wavelength to them. The gap was so wide that compromise wasn't an option.
I love living on my own and it took a long time to learn to live by myself. However, I would be happy to live with someone who I get along with too. I think it would be better to get my debts way down first though as that would be an unfair strain on a relationship IMO.
