  • Hi :hello:

Just thought I'd introduce myself seeing as I just joined yesterday.

My name is Lorna, and I'm a 52 year old  single woman.

I am a carer for my mother who will be 90 in a few weeks.

It's years since I knitted, but when I saw this thread I thought it would be a good idea to pass away the hours when I'm kept awake at night. At the moment I am only doing squares as they are easy to pick up and put down. Been knitting them for less than a week and have done 18 7" x 7" so far... Then I saw where they weren't accepting them anymore. Never mind, I'll keep going until I have enough to make up into a blanket - but that means..... Sewing :(

Hi Lorna and welcome to you. You can send squares to Loving Hands - https://www.lovinghands.org.uk . I shall add your name and squares when I update in the morning. You must be devoted to your mother; what a great age she will be on her next birthday! I do hope you like it here.

    Hi Anne

If you haven't already bought your new ink cartridge, try www.pcfuel.co.uk. Fantastic prices, great service and prompt delivery. A complete set of inks for my all-in-one printer would have cost me £37.99 in PC World but, from www.pcfuel.co.uk, they cost £9.40; with VAT and P&P, the total invoice was £14.25. If you order before 2pm on a weekday afternoon, they despatch the same day. I ordered mine at 1pm and they were in my printer by 9.30am the following day! You can pay via PayPal or credit or debit card.

Hope this helps - I would hate to think of you spending more than you needed to!

Hi there - thanks for the links, Maytaurus. I've tried to download the sackboy pattern before but, for some reason, it just won't open on my PC. I don't have problems downloading anything else. If anyone is able to scan it and email or pm it to me, I'd be really grateful. I would love to be able to make it - it's so cute!
