    Morning all.
    Well my first thoughts today are how can I fit the dinner making and baking around the knitting ? :eek::eek::eek:
    Plan today is to finish my first burial gown (felt sad when I started making it but now feeling happy that I can help make someone's sad time a little more bearable).....it is an easy pattern in 4 ply and am using very light cream almost white wool. Also plan to do more of DS's green cardi.
    Maytaurus I love your posts, with all the animated stuff, and thanks for the patterns too.......if we find a pattern that looks good are we to post it ?
    Kathy, I would have had great fun in that wool shop......I love buying wool, hence the small stash I have built up which is now being used!
    Also, I have some snowflake wool that I have struggled to know what to do with (white and cream), was originally a project to make a cardi for DS but he is far too big now, anyone seen a sock or glove pattern for this wool ? Thanks.
    Ok, take care all

    :rotfl:Me too! I have some pale blue and some white. I have already turned the lemon into burial buntings and some tea cosy preemie hats. Can't help re the glove patterns, I look at them and they always look far too difficult! Haven't worked up the courage to start any yet. Pic you posted of the bodywarmer was lovely.

    Hi everyone - hope you're all having a good day. I'm clearing up all the dust from the antics up in the attic. I had no idea it would make such a mess and was offered dust sheets just a little too late! We've had words! I haven't had time to read the last few posts on here but hope to catch up later.

    Thanks for all the updates so far - with any luck, they'll soon be on my blog!

    OrkneyStar and k2tog Alan Dart has toy patterns using snowflake yarn, if that's any use.

    Thanks Kinsey, I'll have a look - they would have to be simple toys though :D

  • Pippa how exciting!! I know its nerve racking but but this stage all the papers are done so it should just be a joyful day, after which you can all breathe a sigh of relief and relax into being a legal family at last.
    Hope that this is a comfort to people. Its from a book of daily readings that I love called "streams in the desert". I have had endless copies but have always given them away to people who were suffering and my lovely mum sent me a very posh copy last week. I got great comfort from this today and hope (a) that noone is offended by me posting it (b) that it gives those that need it comfort. One of the things that my current nightmarish situation has taught me is that I am able to rest in Him, something of a surprise as a generally self sufficient bod!!

    Child of My love, lean hard
    And let me feel the pressure of thy care;
    I know thy burden child, I shaped it;
    Poised in Mine Own hand; made no proportion
    In its weight to thine unaided strength,
    For even as I laid it on I said,
    “I shall be near when she leans on Me,
    This burden shall be Mine, not hers;
    So shall I keep My child within the circling arms
    Of Mine Own love.” Here lay it down, nor fear
    To impose it on a shoulder which upholds
    The government of worlds. Yet closer come;
    Thou art not near enough, I would embrace they care;
    So I might feel My child reposing on My breast.
    Thou lovest me? I knew it. Doubt not then;
    But loving Me, lean hard”.

    Did someone post a crochet smoothie hat pattern recently? Could have sworn I saw one but can't find it :confused:

    Pippa, have a lovely day tomorrow celebrating that you all officially belong to each other. He's a lucky little boy.
    Jaqui I hope you manage to get things sorted for your DS. Bullying is hideous and it amazes me how young children are when sometimes they start being unpleasant to each other.

    Just watching a lovely wildlife programme with Stephen Fry - definitely recomend a it - while trying to decide what to do next. Maybe a couple of hats or stockings before I do a bit more to my non-butterfly blanket.

    Hi peeps

    What a change in the weather here today. Yesterday was glorious, possibly the best day we’ve had this year, wonderfully warm without being humid. I visited Mum and we actually sat outside for an hour at her request – wow! Today however, its cool and overcast – humph!

    ISOM & Mioliere, asked ?? why prfungi?? Its another yarn I’m afraid – are you sitting comfortably, then I’ll begin……….

    Once upon a time, Pam met and (eventually) married a lovely man who had the strangest job – he was MD of a mushroom farm, hah – hands up who thought they grew in woods and fields………they do, of course, but not commercially I’m afraid.
    Anyway, after doing some advertising artwork for the company he bought me a little gold mushroom on a chain which I wore for many years, I also have a lapel pin which I wore a lot and so it all started.

    As computers became the norm in my working world I implemented a network for my administration team.

    Given the fact that we were generally kept in the dark and every now & then had a load of s*+t thrown at us, mushrooms (fungi) seemed an appropriate theme for password/logins etc.. and so prfungi was born – lets face it its easier to type than pammushroom, and its been me (in ‘puter world) ever since.

    Those were the days !

    I’ve been doing the Teddy pattern that Maytaurus helped me locate :Tand – yippee – the Head looks like it should – thanks Maytaurus, I now know it wasn’t me (I do wonder some times)! I should finish it tomorrow, if I can find/charge camera - you never know I may even post a pic:eek:

    Pippa – best wishes for tomorrow. Have a great celebration !

    F1widow – ((Hugs)) and prayers for your son at school.

    ISOM – thanks for the reading I think its lovely:A

    K2tog – crochet smoothie hat - yep thought I saw one but can’t find it either:confused:

    Orkneystar – well done with the cardi and bodywarmer, lovely work – so neat!

    Re: Snowflake yarn – PamsPal has used a similar yarn for preemies - both Buntings and Gowns, they looked lovely.

    Kathy, did it look like this ?
