    Morning all.
Well my first thoughts today are how can I fit the dinner making and baking around the knitting ?:eek::eek:
Plan today is to finish my first burial gown (felt sad when I started making it but now feeling happy that I can help make someone's sad time a little more bearable).....it is an easy pattern in 4 ply and am using very light cream almost white wool. Also plan to do more of DS's green cardi.
Maytaurus I love your posts, with all the animated stuff, and thanks for the patterns too.......if we find a pattern that looks good are we to post it ?
Kathy, I would have had great fun in that wool shop......I love buying wool, hence the small stash I have built up which is now being used!
Also, I have some snowflake wool that I have struggled to know what to do with (white and cream), was originally a project to make a cardi for DS but he is far too big now, anyone seen a sock or glove pattern for this wool ? Thanks.
    Ok, take care all

Orkney Star - I knew it wouldn't be long before you found that, like the rest of us, the housework gets in the way of knitting rather than the other around! I think Pippa warned you it gets addictive! Too late now, by the sound of it! The burial items are sad things to make but they bring real comfort to bereaved parents, and ensure that the little ones have something handmade with them for their final journey. I can't help with the Snowflake wool but I expect it won't be long before someone comes along with something! As far as finding new patterns is concerned, please feel free to post links to any that you come across - we love new patterns!

Kinsey - I saw a clip of Colin Firth this morning in a new film called A Single Man - he doesn't look like Mr Darcy at all. I may just have to watch Pride and Prejudice again to refresh my memory!

I used to find that my PC didn't like me trawling around to much looking for things (mainly patterns!), but, just before we left the UK, I had someone 'spring clean' it for me. I had stored loads of rubbish on it over the years which had really slowed it down. It works really well now - I've been told not to keep saving everything I come across!)

DPixie - your poor DH. He must be getting so fed up with these migraines. Please send him a (((hug))) from me.

Well, off to do some work before lunch.

    update for this week:
    6 Innocent Smoothie hats
    4 Veg Pot warmers

Not a lot this week as life has been getting in the way of my knitting - back to the GPs for me next week I think; really need to find new meds and hopefully get some sleep so that I can actually get something done in the day without then needing to rest up for a few days!

Lovely surprise yesterday, a friend was bringing me a pallet for me to cut up for firewood for the winter, but when he arrived he had all his tools and some roofing felt and he made me a wood store in the garden where I can stack found wood to season! He made it out of pallets, something I've been planning to do but never had the energy/weather/materials to get around to doing it!
I'm going to paint it with wood stain today and maybe even start sawing some wood to put in it!
Maybe not - actually am totally shattered even though all I did was put in a couple of screws and hold things in place for him to saw, screw together etc.

So, to return to the knitting theme, I'm definitely going to sit in the sun, but maybe some gentle knitting instead of sawing!

ISOM - do hope that you have better news from the estate agent than you did from the auctioneer. Don't know if this helps now but a few years ago a friend told me to sell with Peter Alan but never to buy from them because they always priced higher than anyone else - as long as they can find a buyer maybe this would work in your favour now?

May - your post made me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:OH thought I'd lost the plot;)

Kathy - I have visions of you sitting at your computer slowly disapearing under a mound of dust, I am sure May will come up with an appropriate picture....ooo I look forward to seeing that ;):D

dpixie - Hope your OH feels better soon, migraine's are sooo draining, I don't get them now but years ago when I was carrying DS1 I had them almost continually for the first 3 months, I never thought they would stop.

OrkneyStar - the burial items are always needed unfortunately , but the bereaved parents are so pleased with them it makes knitting something for such a sad reason all the more worthwhile.

k2tog - I started the scarf again last night on the right size hook and it looks a lot better now more as it should I think

f1widow - bullying is a terrible for anyone to go through, I hope it gets sorted out, poor chap

OrkneyStar - Hmmm small stash of wool, give it time girl and you will be hiding it everywhere:rotfl:

DS2 is at Vanfest in Malvern the VW Show, had a call earlier he's sold a camper :j

    Sylvia,
My dog (who resides with mum now as she wanted the company when I left) is a rescue collie x (we think with spaniel), most fun, loving, cuddle-wanting dog I have ever known.
My sis also has a rescue collie x too. I am not thinking to get a dog just now, enough on my plate, but collies are one of my faves. Enjoy the doggie, and hope all goes well with him. Lots of love with good boundary setting is the key imho. Looking forward to seeing a pic of him :).
Just been to Tesco, but planning to knit after lunch, as well as making shortcake and roast gammon for dinner....just awaiting DS return from Church with my icing sugar!
    xx

    Me again,
I've just had a lovely few hours running and crawling around with DGS, feel fair worn out now, but enjoyed every minute of it :D

DIL has taken him home now, we've all got a big day tomorrow, it's the court hearing for the adoption at 10am in Telford, which is about 40 miles away, we will be travelling through the rush hour so goodness knows how long it will take us to get there, but we will start early and if we get there too early it does'nt matter, we will just hang around, or go for a coffee.

I am sooo nervous, I will go have a shower that always relaxes me. Then I will sit and knit or crochet.

 While I think about it I had some crochet hooks given me and as I have them already would anyone like them??? Let me know in the next few days and I will send them off.

They are sizes ....3mm....3.5mm.....4.5mm and I've got 1 of each.

Thats about it from me, I will do my update next, not that there's much this time, I've been doing stuff for DGS and Mum which I have'nt counted in.
