Just popped in quick (have had a horrendous first week back with DS - being bullied etc wont bore you with details but we are going for meeting at different school next week so fingers crossed)
I am really interested in blog but does someone have a few minutes to point me in the right direction I am completely lost with it - is it set up via here - and how can I see other peoples ie chalky etc
Anyway love and hugs to you all - you seem to have all been really busy this week - tidying and sorting etc - those of you with sick loved ones I hope they are picking up and you are also ok - the gingham curtain brought back memories - we had one at our kitchen & bathroom window & I had the off cut on my wendy house window
(ISOM sorry to hear about auctioneers valuation - good luck with something else fingers crossed)
(Maytaurus - your posts are legendry dont ever stop!)
The ripple scarf you are all busy making is it just crochet or has anyone seen a knit version
Better go OH at work till 3pm - outlaws (MIL & FIL) are visiting this afternoon and I am on laundry & housework duties plus DS wants a game of Guitar Heros ..... I just want to make cards or knit ha ha

F1 - this is a free blog site that Prfungi found - it's easy to use (although I am still learning as I go!) but very good. http://www.weebly.com/weebly/userHome.php I'd love to read your blog!
Pippa - with DK wool I used a No 4 (UK) crochet hook for the ruffle scarf. Good luck with it - perhaps the one you've made that's too small will do for a doll's scarf for one of your DGDs?
Must dash - got visitors in a minute. Will catch up later.

Hi everyone
This is the Blog website I have got up and running with-- still need loads more practice but it is easy. I tried Wordpress which I am sure would be good but I was a bit overwhelmed by it
http://www.facebook.com/l/;www.blogger.com
Please feel free to have a look at mine which is progressing slowly.
Click on chalky 75 on my posts and
Visit my homepage which takes you to my blog. Please add yourself as a follower It will really spur me on to see people enjoying it !
F1 widow-- I am so sorry to hear about your son as we have all said the worry about your children is worse than any other. Nobody deserves to feel unsafe in their lives. Thank goodness he has such a loving supportive family who are willing to make things right for him. Hope the meeting in the new school goes well.
ISOM-- I had the same problem when my Mum dies with auctioneers. My opinion of them is not very high.
Gentle thoughts to all . Hope the sunshine is helping.
Well I am off to the wool shop with a swatch of colours and I am going to buy LOTS of wool, mainly to take back to Spain for winter projects -- and I am so excited. Lovely to put it all in a basket and enjoy the colours !!
Have good days everyone and Happy Knitting
I have packed up the parcel to Lou and may I say for the last time thanks for all the lovely sqaures which has made operation Blanket such a successTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi all
Seems all I can manage at the moment is to login once a week, though I try to catch up during the week if I can (haven't had a chance so far - life is hectic). But I've just come along to post my update for this week:-
4 gowns
4 hats
5 Christmas stockings
My signature is up to date.
I've found I'm hooked on the gowns and the stockings as I find them really easy to do and relaxing in the evenings.
Shezmit - although I usually take my stuff straight to the local hospital, this time I'll be sending a bundle through to you when I've done more stockings so that you can use them at your Christmas Fayre.
One of these times I must have a go at crochet - when I was younger I managed to crochet a couple of small blankets using granny squares, and I think I even made myself a poncho ( that shows my age) but I can't remember how to even start so I'll have to take a look at YouTube when I've got time to remind myself - there are so many great patterns around which are just crochet.
Hope all are well and enjoying the good weather while it lasts.
Helen

Here is my second preemie thing.....a little bodywarmer with a nice cheerful coloured border......just thinking the buttons look a bit big but then was thinking if they are too small it will be hard to undo them.....what are people's thoughts ? (I think they look a similar size to the ones on the pattern pic I followed). I have updated my sig.....woohoo I have made 2 preemie things already :T. Might try a ventilator cap next or some other small hat.
Also doing DS aran jumper just now, coming along fine and feels lovely and soft. It is a green marl colour, nice for the winter.
I would love to read some of your blogs, so if anyone has a url I would love to have a nosey.
Ok, bye for now.

Orkney - the bodywarmer looks gorgeous; I love the colours you've picked. Your knitting looks very professional. I think the buttons look good and would be much easier to use than tiny ones. I wouldn't change them. Well done.
Heldun - well done for such a good total for the week, especially as life is hectic for you.
Well, today we went out for lunch with our visitors then strolled around and found a second-hand shop that sold, amongst other things, wool! I was delighted and picked up two brand new balls of a lovely raspberry coloured wool which looks like DK. It doesn't give the type of wool on the ball band, just the size of needles needed, which said 3.5 - 4, and it looks like DK so that's how I shall use it. I could have had a longer rummage but the shop was about to close. I shall be taking another visit in the week, because it's less than five minutes away by car. It's so good to find a cheap source of wool out here - my DH and our visitors looked completely baffled by my excitement! They just don't understand, do they?
Anyway, I'm about to take another look at Maytaurus's links and will print them off. DH has gone to the dump (the 'dechetterie') with our neighbour, with a trailer-load of rubbish, so I have half an hour to spare.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
