    Mioliere, re recipes.

The Loving Hands recipe book is going to be a collection of folks favourite recipes, so will have all sorts of goodies in. (Jean LOVES cakes)

Soups / starters, mains, puds, cakes, sweeties etc. So any type of recipe will fit in somewhere.

Good morning everyone. Hope you are all well.

I will be doing the update later today; sorry it's a late one!

Elaine - I shall get a recipe to you today hopefully! I love the idea of a book being dedicated to your dear Jim.

ISOM - that looks like a gorgeous book. I've approved you for the Wooligans, by the way, so welcome to that! Have you seen all the lovely photos on there? Shows what a talented bunch we have here!

Chalky - after one of our house moves, we swore we would never clutter up a loft again! We had a cottage with two separate lofts but very low ceilings in them, so sorting it out was a real nightmare and took ages - not least because the stuff up there stirs the memory! Since then, we've barely used the loft space in any house, and in this house in France we're opening up the loft space to make either bedrooms or vaulted ceilings for downstairs. We have plenty of outside barns to clutter up now!

Well, I just have to sew up the baby cardi I've made for a friend, then knit a hat and booties to go with it, then I shall get on with some charity items. I watched the England v Croatia match last night - we only ever follow the big important matches because we're not true fans, but it was such an exciting match and I really enjoyed it. Managed to make two baby sleeves while it was on - I seemed to knit a lot faster with the excitement!

The ruffle scarves seem to have struck a chord with lots of you. I think they make lovely pressies. They are so simple and quick to make, yet look stunning. I'm going to make quite a few this year, and one for myself, too! I shall have to try one in mohair because my sister gave me some recently in a lovely caramel colour.

    Anyway, I'll call back later.

morning everyone - hope that you are all well and for those who are poorly or in poor spirits, loads of love winging its way over to you.

i made a huge decision today, i had about 200 squares (in very strange sizes) that i was going to send to a charity that makes blankets for some african country, however, the person never responded to my e-mail and therefore i never sent the squares. so ... decision is that i am going to unpick the squares and make other charity things with them - how moneysaving is that! i think i will make some more jumpers for knit-a-square and some more squares for them - unless of course someone else comes up with a better idea.

shelley - tried to crochet some little christmas stockings for you - what a disaster, however, the jean greenhowe pattern is so quick and easy that i am going to go and buy a ball of wool today to knit some more! will send them when i have 10 or so.

have a lovely day everyone - hugs to all those who need them.

Hi Jean - you're not too late. I'm doing the update later today! Good luck with the Mary Poppins session!

Good to hear from you, Shaz - I hope things are going well for you.

Well, cakes have been made and kitchen cleared up afterwards - I hate that sort of mess but love the cakes!

I need to pop out when the final batch are out of the oven, then I shall come back and do the promised update.

    See you all later.

DPixie - LH will take squares and sew them together, too, so you don't have to unpick those that you have made - unless you want to, of course!

    :hello: Hello everyone

Just had a quick skim through to bring me up to date with all the goings on ;)

Kathy - found the scarf pattern, then got to your post for Sylvia and could have saved ages trawling through if I had started reading on the last page :rotfl: I have the ball of mohair my sister left for me my fingers are itching to make a start on it, must finish the slipover I have been doing first though:D
Elaine - I have a recipe for a fruit cake Mum used to make during the war when rations permitted would that be ok for your lovely book?
ISOM - I always send my squares to L/H but they do like a tail of wool left so its easier to sew up, dopey me :o I usually forget so I put a small ball in the parcel. LOVE the book, the patterns look so pretty and delicate. I believe in the man up there so prayers from me, and a (((hug))) :A
Chalky - thats just what I need to do have a massive declutter, the loft seems to fill up sooo quickly goodness knows how
Only Girl - glad you are feeling a bit better now, and we dont mind listening to all non knitting related stuff as you called it, you just come in and chat when you feel the need, after all what are friends for :D
Jean - thanks for the email, I will reply later x Watch that chimney sweeping it can get a bit messy:rolleyes::rotfl:

I must go now hairdresser is coming at 10 and I need to go have a shower and wash hair, I want it to look tidy for the funeral tomorrow, some might think its silly but its just as a mark of respect, my friend set great store by neat and tidy hair, it was one of her idiosincrisys(sp)? and we all have those dont we ;)

    Take care all

good idea Kathy, do you think they will take strange dimension ones - i am not sure what planet i was on at the time, but they are not quite square, but there are enough of them to make a few blankets, probably 2 or 3 ...

    dpixie

by the way, what cake are you making? i would love a slice of cake right now, banana loaf would be just perfect.
