f1widow, so you didn't find out what was in the box?0
-
Good morning everyone.
Jaqui - so perhaps your neighbour got my ironing then! I bet the box looked exciting - I wonder what was in it?!
Well, I started posting yesterday evening but had a knock on the door and it was our neighbour - we store his caravan in our barn and, as they have finished with it for this year, we helped him put it back there for the winter. Then, of course, it was aperitif time! Had a couple of glasses of home-made pineau (delicious and very moreish), and came back with a huge bowl of big fat tomatoes. Luckily, dinner was a casserole in the Remoska, so I just covered it with two layers of foil and let it carry on cooking. We ate it at 9pm, slightly sozzled, cleared up and dozed off on the sofa! This morning I shall be doing something with all the tomatoes!
So, no knitting done last night but I will make up for it today, hopefully.
I thought I'd posted this yesterday but I can't find it on here now! It's another pattern for a ruffle scarf using different stitches to the other one http://www.crochetspot.com/category/free-crochet-patterns/page/7/ Scroll down and it's the seventh pattern on the page. There are lots of other good patterns on the site, and you can also join up for $10 a month and get even more patterns but the free ones are so good, I haven't joined up!
Hope everyone is feeling well and lots of (((hugs))) to those who have illness or sadness in their lives.
Will catch up with you all later.

morning all and wonderful wishes full of love and hugs beaming out to each and every one of you.
finished my first ruffle scarf yesterday (the one in mohair - kathy, where did i get the idea that you had done yours in mohair???) and i think it turned out beautifully. in fact i was so taken with it i went and bought some Sidar Crofter aran to make the same thing for a friend of mine for christmas. then, i had the idea that i would make that scarf and a matching hat for myself for christmas, but i think i will get the yarn from kemps, rather than the local shop, as at £1 a ball more expensive, i think that i will be able to get the postage on a whole lot of things for the saving i make.
other than that i have to do some really boring jobs today (and an hours french studying) and go to the gym. so i think that its off to the gym first and then do the tasks starting with the most boring one first ... with a bit of crochet in between as i want to see the second scarf finished.
by the way, the pattern i used was the lion brand "claudette scarf" - i used a smaller hook and thinner yarn, but i added more stitches (180) and did 6 rows - turns out really pretty.
love and good wishes to you all for a wonderful day

the funniest thing happened earlier - after seeing your post this morning about sending the ironing huge bang on the door and there stood courier (not the most polite one have ever met ....) delivery he bellowed and next to him was this enormous box - I thought oh kathy youve sent me your regions laundry - anyway it was not for me and cursing and swearing off he dragged this box away - meanwhile I stand there like some looney laughing at the door and only I knew the joke ......

f1widow - re above, :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I almost choked on my coffee !!!!

Hi DPixie- the scarf sounds lovely. I've looked for the pattern and printed it off. The good thing is that you can add as many rows as you like, and change the colours, too. I'd love to see a photo of the one you made! I'm definitely going to be making loads for Christmas pressies - I have lots of children to give to and the scarf is an ideal pressie for the girls.
Elaine - as F1widow was obviously expecting a box full of ironing, I might just send my next lot to her! She might even get the same delivery chap!
Will try and do the update later - I've just had a marathon session in the kitchen making good use of all the tomatoes my neighbour gave me yesterday - all now turned into two lots of soup, lots of roast tomatoes, and three lots of tomato sauce for bolognaise. Just have to finish clearing up all the mess but thought I'd come on here with a coffee first!

Hi everyone,
thanks for all you good wishes, am feeling a bit better today. I have been meaning to get out the front and tidy up the forecourt for ages so i made myself get out there today and I'm so glad I did I've swept up all the leaves etc and trimmed the weeds that were creaping over the wall from next door and scraped all the loose paintwork off the window ledge and the front wall and i think it's just about ready for a new coat of paint which i shall aim to start tomorrow.
It has definately taken my mind off things and although I'm a bit achy I feel more myself.
You all are so lovely and I really feel you are my true friends, thanks for listening to all my non knitting related waffle.
Take care,x:jWooligans Totals 2010:
