The wool shop lessons sound great :j.
Scarves are a great way of getting more confident and the repetition of the stitches really helps you get used to them and best of all - no sewing up with scarves! Glad DD loves the hat.
Chalky the blankets look great. Well done :A0 -

Hey up chuck, assuming you're still on the laptop - don't break this one as well!:rotfl:
Aren't the blankets lovely - I know you'll treasure them for many years, I have a Bay tree bought for me by my DH's "girls in the office" I trim it every year and dry some of the leaves which I use for cooking my favourite Bolognese sauce.
Just think - you'll be able to cuddle up with the blanket and keep nice and snug while you think of DH - have you tried cuddling a bay tree????!!!!:rotfl:
Night night, God Bless
((Hugs))

Wow, there's so much to read on here that I shall have to save it for later and settle down with it! You've all been so busy on here while I was lazing about not doing the ironing yesterday (Jean - that's so kind of you telling me that F1widow will do my ironing - there's a huge pile of it on the way to her right now!).
I see we have another new member, too, so welcome Buggalugs! Just read the very first page on this thread for all the info you'll need, and ask as many questions as you want - you will always get a great answer!
Chalky - I don't know what to say about the blankets. They brought tears to my eyes so I can only begin to imagine how Elaine felt when she saw the photos. You have done the most fantastic job with all the squares.
Elaine - as you can see from Chalky's photos, the blankets are choc full of love, prayers, hugs and special wishes for you and your family.
Maytaurus - you've found some real treasures for us! My 'to-do' list is now huge! Thank for all the links in your wonderful post. I'm going to take a long look at them all again once all my chores have been done this morning!
Well, we took a packed lunch out yesterday for a couple of hours; the weather was gorgeous here. Then I just lazed about for the rest of the day, and was Skyped by DS1 and DS2 and all the grandchildren which was lovely. I love Skype so much because I can see them all while we are talking - it makes such a difference to my life out here! I've had some lovely pressies, including some gorgeous photos of the children made into fridgies, some jewellery, flowers, a photo album filled with photos of the grandchildren, and there are still things on their way to me through the post, so it's all been very exciting.
Sadly, it's back to reality today - I didn't really send the ironing to F1widow, so I shall be doing that first thing this morning, then popping out to the shops, then I shall sit back and read all the thread from yesterday and printing off photos and patterns.
I hope you all have a good day. I'll be able to keep up with the thread today - yesterday just disappeared in a blur! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes - they gave me such a warm glow!
See you all later.
