That teacosy brought back memories, my mum's two maiden aunts used to knit them when I as little. They lived in a one bedroom wonky cottage in rural Suffolk and were both real characters. Now just got to knit one myself.
  • Kinsey - you paint a wonderful picture - can just see the old Aunties in the higledy pigledy cottage - and I do see the teacosy too

Hush Jaqui, don`t worry, it was one of the newbies.

(Whisper) we`ll soon get her trained that stash sorting is not a terrific idea, verrrrrry stressful, but adding to it is another story altogether. ;)
Calm down dear and go and do something relaxing - like knitting :D

Hi everyone. Just popping my head round the door. I've had a lovely birthday and am about to open the bottle. Thanks for all your good wishes! Haven't had chance to catch up with the thread but will do tomorrow. Only managed to iron four pillowcases this morning - the phone kept going so, in the end, I put the ironing board away! The ironing fairy hasn't turned up to do for me, so I will have to do it tomorrow.

Hope you are all having a great evening. Will catch up tomorrow - the thread's been really busy today, hasn't it?

Elaine - that teacosy is just the exact one I want........yep I did have one from my Grannie but it fell to bits - oh and it got a bit singed around the bottom, so I am really greatful to you for finding that pattern for me. Just got to work out the colours, I would like it all bright and in your face, so will have a search in the knitting machine wool stash and see what I can come up with. Surely the book should be EEE & JAY ELLL 8CH recipe book?
Jaqui - sorry the barn is not even on the list of projects to do list, so Kathy will have to put you all up - I will supply the jam/chutney/curd etc
K2tog - having been got at by Elaine for the recipe I have now sent it on to her for inclusion iin the Loving Hands recipe book...so just remember and buy one when its available.
Shower time then a quiet sit down

I will! And send my recipe off - hope it doesn't come across as completely approximate :o

    hello :D

    how is everyone?

I have just picked up some lovely woolly stuff (but i think its synthetic) in a really nice midnight blue, might try and have another pop at knitting :D

Keep at it Delain, you'll soon bash it into submission - was it you that had the crochet "lump"? I had a load of drunken-spider webs when I was teaching myself crochet. In the face of my persistence, the wool eventually gave up and did what it was supposed to :D. It still doesn't look beautifully neat like on the blogs that people have so maybe I'm a drunken spider at heart.....
What are you going to knit?

Yes i had the crochet lump! i was doing the stitches too tight and it sort of turned into a hat shape and my 7 year old DD has claimed it as a hat 'my mummy made me' :T so i'm glad she's proud of it even though it's full of holes and a funny shape! :o

The first thing i have done with nice new wool is start a crochet case for my mobile phone, is a touch screeny one and i'm terrified of it getting damaged  but i've nearly finished that, then i'm going to be brave and do some knitting. might try to make my DD's some winter scarves, and see if i can up my standards enough to do your projects! And i just found out that i can go to a knitting group at my local wool shop for where they teach you how to do it and it's £3 to include tea and biscuits :j

    Your blankets look wonderful :T
