Hi,
I would like to join this thread.
Currently knitting a cardi for DS but plan to move on to some things for preemies.
Have emailed the lady at BonnieBabies, in Campbeltown (sp ?) and hope to be able to send stuff soon.
ETA Anyone knitted any of the breasts ? We had them in Aberdeen Maternity and the Midwives seemed to use them quite a lot ?
I saw some in a magazine too.

Hello Orkneystar, and welcome to the madhouse. Only kidding, we`re a friendly bunch really .

Quite a few of us have knitted boobs (oo er ) as they are in great demand. Shezmit on here needs them for preemies uk and Lou over on Loving Hands has a constant demand for all we can supply as well !!

If you read the very first post,( if you haven`t already done so ) you`ll find all the info you need, and links to loads of free patterns, you`ll be spoilt for choice. You won`t have time for housework as you`ll be too busy knitting or chatting on here.

If you have any queries or problems just shout and someone will be around to help.

Yes I did briefly read the post at the start.
I think I might give a boob a go then, and see how it goes. I suppose the pattern is kind of like a hat pattern ?
[STRIKE]I will hopefully get DS's cardi finished soon[/STRIKE]- abandoned due to size not being big enough and not enough wool to make next size!, so I can start browsing the patterns and seeing that the hands can create!
I can knit reasonably well and so want to put myself to good use iyswim, while I am a SAHM.

Oh nearly missed it BON. ANNIVERSAIRE Kathy, just have the champagne it goes off rapidly if you don't drink it - I know this for a fact.

it can be so annoying,I will presume that you are using a basic stitch & not a fancy pattern
I can only suggest that you undo your knitting to before it went wrong
Then, use a stitch holder, or the thinnest needle you have to pick up the stitches,
this should make it easier to pick them up correctly than using the same size needle you are actually knitting with.
When you have picked up your stitches, count them to make sure you have the right number on your needle
Lay the knitting on a flat surface and check that no stitches have been missed before continuing

Thank you! I've currently only learnt the basic knit stitch, but it can still be really pretty if you use a different coloured wool - my one atm is a mix of brown and cream - and it's even prettier because I made it! I think I'm going to learn something a bit more complicated for next time, though.
