Have just done 3 mini Xmas stockings. They are great - almost as good as IS hats!
I've done them in some red wool with a white top - the white yarn has a silvery thread through it and is very effective and was 99p in Wilkos. Think I might get some more shhhhhh!
Can't face sewing them all up as I go so will leave it until I have a pile of them and have a sewing up night. Definitely going to do some more!
    Night x

Hi experienced knitters, can any of you help with my problem? I'm knitting a scarf, but I'm not very good yet. My knitting fell off my needles, so I put it back on and carried on knitting. Except I must've done something wrong, because now I have a loopy bit. I googled "dropped stitch" but it's nothing like the pictures - mine looks more like a missed stitch. And I don't know how to fix it!

    Sorry for interrupting.

    To the thread
sorry to hear you’ve dropped some of your stitches
it can be so annoying,I will presume that you are using a basic stitch & not a fancy pattern
I can only suggest that you undo your knitting to before it went wrong
Then, use a stitch holder, or the thinnest needle you have to pick up the stitches,
this should make it easier to pick them up correctly than using the same size needle you are actually knitting with.
When you have picked up your stitches, count them to make sure you have the right number on your needle
Lay the knitting on a flat surface and check that no stitches have been missed before continuing
Hope that helps and good luck with your scarf !!

    Good morning everyone.

Pippa - (((hugs))) to you. I've been thinking about you.

Thanks to you all for your wonderful updates - a very productive week! I'll do the update today or tomorrow. I've been working on a blog (thanks to Prfunig pointing me in the right direction), but I've not had time to get it going properly. I should get it up and running this week and will put the update on there - I'll have a lot more room. On here, there's a limit to how many characters you can have in each post and every so often I have to edit to get it all in, but this means squeezing everything up. Hopefully, I can update on the blog and just put a link to it in my post on here. I hope I've explained it well!

Juno - Maytaurus always has great advice! Good luck with sorting out your knitting!

Well, I had plans for working on the blog today but DH has taken the day off (because it's my birthday!) so I probably won't get much time on the computer. If it's nice today, we will take a picnic to a lovely lake we found recently. It's my DS1's birthday today, too, so I shall be Skyping him. I'd rather see him in the flesh, but Skype is the next best thing!

We were invited out for lunch yesterday. We had a lovely time but it involved a couple of glasses of vino collapsio - lovely at the time but I can't really drink during the day and it wore me out for the rest of the day, so I was glad to get to bed last night. I was given a lovely hibiscus (sp) for the garden, and a bottle of champagne as pressies so I need to find the right spot for the plant and a good occasion for the champagne! We have friends visiting us on 20th for a week; they are really nervous about the driving so I may open the champers when they get here to celebrate!

Anyway, I'm halfway through a little cardi for them to take back for when their DD has her baby in November. I shall make a hat and booties to go with it, too.

Please let me know if you are all happy for me to update on a blog from now on. If not, I can always post it over two posts.

Well, I'd better go. I'm going to send the aliens singing happy birthday that someone posted on here not long ago to my DS1 - it's so funny.

    Will call back later.
