When I strip it off I leave it inside out/outside in then after ironing it goes right onto the duvet
mind you I leave the quilt on the bed while I am doing it, I tried to shake it like the vid says but got absolutely no where, so I just shimmie it down.

    Hi everyone

I'm afraid I've been MIA for a while as I tend to do most of my knitting when the weather turns colder and there aren't so many outside jobs etc to do.

But I have been lurking and following what's been going on and my prayers have been with those who have been having bad times so (((hugs))) for those who need them.

I see the fantastic news that babies have been arriving too, so congratulations to all those who are celebrating new birth.

My knitting update is pretty poor I'm afraid, but hope to do more as the autumn starts to arrive:

    3 cardies
    6 hats
    1 booties
    1 blanket
    2 gowns

    My signature should be correct.

Most of my knitting I am taking directly to my local hospital, but
Shezmit - I have PM'd you with a question re the gowns.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, and I'll try not to lurk so much and get knitting and posting. :o

Hi all. I've been MIA all day because I've been helping DH to sort out the attic - we're making another bedroom because we have friends coming to stay in two weeks and the husband has arthritis so we don't want him using our very steep stairs. They will sleep in the downstairs bedroom that we are using at the moment. Of course, the attic is another spidery place so I've been struggling up there but, so far, nothing has jumped on me!

Heldun - good to hear from you. That's a great update, please don't think it's poor. No-one's under any pressure to knit because we all have busy lives and other commitments; any item is worthwhile whether it's one tiny hat or 100!

The friends who are coming to stay are expecting their first grandchild in two months so I thought I'd make something for them to take back - a cardi, hat and booties, I think. The parents-to-be have chosen not to know the sex of the baby, so I shall use some of the masses of white wool I brought back from the UK and just find some colourful buttons. With all the turning out upstairs, I've yet to find my huge button box, but it will give me an excuse to visit the haberdashery here, which I love. Jean - do have La Tissuterie here in your part of France? - it's wonderful but, sadly, my local one doesn't sell wool (as if I need any at the moment!).

Chalky - looking forward to hearing about your crafty day!

Well, dinner is on so I'd better get on.

See you later. Hope you are all having a good weekend.

    Hi everyone
The craft day was in one of my favourite Devonshire Moorland Towns - Bovey Tracey ( Kathy had some friends there I believe ) The one good thing that has come out of DOH being poorly is that it has made me drive the Sunshine Bus. To be honest DOH is an advanced driver and a very poor passenger. So I get nervous when I drive him and he hates it . SO this week I have been driving everywhere and I am totally at ease now.

Well I have been doing a lot or stitching lately but the course started at 10.00 and finished at 4.00 and we stitched all day. Even through lunch . It was an applique course using dyed vintage woollen blankets.
The lovely thing was that most of the group were youngsters so it is lovey to see the next generation being interested.
I have been kniting little Beach huts and I have incorporated them with mimiature knitted hearts in the work. I have put it away tonight but will take a picture when it is finished

I wish all you guys had been there because the examples of her work were absolutlely inspirational --- Lovely baby wall hangings for the new babies !!

Well I hope everyone is feeling oK and the poorlies amongst us are on the mend.
Gentle thoughts if you need them and congratulations if you are celebrating

I'm sure things will improve with DS Onlygirl - fingers crossed it's soon for you both.
Well done Jaqui on getting out and about.
Welcome back Heldun. I think most of us slow down with knitting in the (slightly) warmer months but it certainly makes the winter evenings more pleasant!
Sounds like you had a lovely day Chalky in lovely Bovey Tracey. Can't wait to see your pics.
Mioliere and Jean, I expect you both had better weather than here!
LCWilson, hope things are improving for you and yours.
Thanks for letting me know it got there Shez. I'm trying to target the things on your list as I'm aware the end of September isn't that far away. I think most other times of the year we could hit those targets but I think quite a few people have been able to do less over the holidays, including me. I'll keep plugging away :)
Noticing quite a few MIAs at the mo - hope it's due to holidays and good things.

Missing in action - or in your old profession - truants!

Chalky, do you need to be an ace stitcher to get something out of those courses? Mine is a bit woeful but I love the things you've been posting pics of.
