They sound like mine Chalky - apologies for the mystery, it was on the back of a school shoes buying trip so I claim stressed and harrassed as state of mind!

Chalky, I didn't put any note in with mine either! I did a red, pink and purple one and another in greens and blue. I think I did put my name on the back of the packet. Anyway, can't wait to see the pics of the finished blankets, am sure they will be gorgeous!

Hi Chalky - I hope my latest square got to you. I actually ended up posting it in the UK while I was there. I can't wait to see photos of the finished results. Thank you so much for all the sewing up - you must have worked really hard.

Chalky I think you must be pretty unique on here re enjoying the sewing up! I'm really glad you've enjoyed sewing up all those squares as it would have been awful if you hadn't and I don't think the blankets would look so loved :D. From one who loathes sewing up - thanks for doing it :A
I'm doing too much faffing now, need to get my sticks out and get busy.
  • I have tried to read most of this thread for info but its really long!

Well done to everyone for their efforts in good causes. Like most people I used to knit a lot when my son and nephews were small and got into knitting Father Christmas and Snowmen etc. but stopped as they got older and embarrassed!

Was sorting out the cupboard under the stairs at the weekend and found my nan's old sewing stuff and in it were metal disks which she used for pom poms. Brought back memories.

May be enough to get me started again, in which case I'll be back on to find out what to do with stuff when I've finished it! Probably all I can manage at the moment is crocheted granny squares and I used to do squares that were diamonds, so started with one stitch if I can remember how.

  • evening all...a difficult time in ISOM land as am in the process of decluttering (or ruthlessly emptying!) my flat ready to sell. Am also rehoming my 4 cats and turtle which is heartbreaking and I keep reminding myself that I have my health and incredible support from family and friends...for those who believe in the man upstairs prayers would be appreciated...all relative of course and am very aware from recent posts that it culd be so much worse...No knitting today as been decluttering and not a minute spare...car boot is sat am so am praying for no rain over cardiff!
