    Morning all
Kathy, your life sounds idyllic at the moment - apart from the plumbing parts! I am just very grateful we have some sun here for a change as it's so much easier to get things done.
Have gone wrong with the gown I am trying to knit. I thought I had followed the instructions correctly but I do not have a picot edge, I have an eyelet row. Not sure what to do with it as have almost finished the skirty bit but the bottom is wrong because of the edging. I get quite frustrated when I can't seem to follow patterns correctly and I dream about being able to do what some of the clever peeps on here can do like converting patterns between needle types and resizing using MATHS. Hey ho, I knew I wasn't a natural knitting talent :D.
Sunny, pleasant days to all x

Morning K2Tog - your gown sounds right, if I remember correctly - if you fold on the eyelet row and stitch a hem you get your picot edge!

    luv

    G'Mornin all,
Its a bit overcast here today but I think the sun's trying to get through (fingers crossed).

Kathy - yes I'll do the update - no problem, do you want me to do the latest one or are you part way through?

Pippa - so pleased for you, I think you might be excited, yes?

Maytaurus - beautiful pics again, trust you're having a good day!

I took Mum out yesterday - I thought the usual coffee and cake trip would be enough but she wanted to shop 'cos the sales were on ......... anyway eventually she bought a lovely cardi and s/sleeved jumper from BHS not in the sale of course, then we visited Bon Marche where we picked up some of the soft leisure trousers 2pr for £12 which is great, I got a couple of pairs too - I love them when I'm knocking about at home. They also have loads of tops in the sale but I managed to persuade her she'd got enough!!

Hmmm - tummy's rumbling, time for breakfast!

    'bye for now
    luv

Pam - I've just started totting up the latest one so I might as well carry on with it, thanks. You beat me to K2tog's question about folding the hem to make a picot! I remember the first time I did one - I was so impressed with myself! Sounds like your Mum enjoyed her shopping trip!

Pippa - your fantastic news has warmed my heart up no end! Your DGS sounds like the perfect little boy with the perfect ready-made family! He definitely has the perfect Gran! Please send my good wishes to the whole family and I can't wait to hear about the party!

Well, I've just done some tidying up, put lots of washing on the line (couldn't use the WM yesterday because we had no water for hours!), and sorted out some clothes for packing. I've put the chairs on the table ready to wash the kitchen floor but am now sat down watching No Place Like Home - about people wondering whether to move back to the UK from wherever they have moved to. This week it's a couple in France! I shall start a hedgie for Elaine's fundraising while I sit down.

    Morning all,

Pippa, what brilliant news, it'll be a great day and not long to wait. Really pleased for you all.:j

Well I've hung my washing out, not sure how long it will stay out as the clouds are closing in. I have a busy week ahead trying to finish off bits and pieces before our holiday next week. Ds1 is very excited.:D

ISOM, simon's cat site is fab, DS1 loved it we had to sit and watch all of them twice.:rotfl:

Anyway must get on, lots to do.Hugs to all.

Afternoon all, wet and soggy day here so I`ve just put a pot of soup on for dinner tonight - `comfort food`.

Maytaurus that`s a lovely little door hanger.

K2tog- hope you`ve got the picot sussed. Got your pm.

Pippa.S - Great news about your family :j

Had a slight disaster last night with the washing machine. Took a load of towels out and they were still soaking wet  had visions of LOTS of money having to be spent. However, remembered tha last time it happened my ever loving showed me what to do with the filter bit, so got it unscrewed (eventually) and blow me this is what I found.

    1 x 50p coin
    1x 10p
    2x 2p
    1x1p
    4 x 5p
1 small straw from drink carton
    1 cocktail stick
1 plastic clip - the sort you get lots of on shirts etc
and the usual bits of wet fluff.

Machine seems to be OK now that it`s been de-gunked. :T
Off to refill coffee cup and pop over to LH.

    Back later.

Oh, Elaine! What a haul from your machine. You've reminded me that I must do mine - but not today! It's surprising what a bit of maintenance does, isn't it? It's one of those things that I say I'll do regularly but don't. I still need to wash the kitchen floor. The chairs have been up on the table since about 9am this morning - if I take them down the floor won't get washed, so I must do it as soon as I have updated.

I've made a start on a hedgie for your fundraising; will try and get it finished before I head off to my fish and chip job this evening!

Well, here goes the nerve-wracking bit for me! This is the latest update - please let me know if I make a mistake! Once I'm back from the UK, I will start working on a blog and will keep the updates on there.

Thanks for all your efforts - the totals are amazing, so well done!
