    Hi everyone,

Lovely post as always Maytaurus, beautiful and thoughtful pics, I`m sure everyone appreciates all your good wishes as much as I do. You always seem to find an appropriate pic or saying for us.

K2tog thanks for flagging up the LH project. We hope to be allowed to have a stall at the local flower show at the end of the month to publicise Loving Hands and make some money to cover postage costs, buying wool etc for the members. The request is being put to the committee on Tuesday night so we`ll have to be patient for a day or two. If we get the go ahead, I`d like to have some toys for a tombola stall, so that it`s not all prizes for`big people` - actually started off thinking of just toys but decided it would be better to target a wider audience, so am going to have a few bottles of the old vino etc;) Some toys may also be sold or small ones might be used for a lucky dip. We are still in the discussion stages but are looking at several options for parting the public from their cash :D

As one of the LH challenges is for toys for algerian action, any toys which are donated to us for the stall (I`m being positive here, assuming we will be given permission) and are not won or sold will be sent to Lou for the challenge. If any of you feel you would like to contribute, any donations can be sent directly to me instead of Lou at LH as this will cut down on postage.

    See you later.

Gosh, everyone on an early night?
Just done 2 LH mens hats with sirdar bigga which I got for a pound a ball from Kemps ages ago. 1 ball = 1 hat and they are really quick. Feeling very productive :D.
Off to surf...for stuff... oops, another late one :o

Good morning everyone. I didn't have time to get back on here yesterday. Our friends turned up just as I was trying to post, and the rest of the day just flew by. We had coffee then went out for a lovely walk around a local lake which was beautiful (I'll put some photos on FB when I get round to it). We came across some horses in a field; I was just stroking one on his lovely face when I touched the electrified fence, and the horse and I jumped out of our skins! It was quite a strong shock, too. As usual in France, there were no warning signs around - I'm glad I did it though, because at least I can warn anyone else we take there not to touch the fence! Anyway, we had a lovely time with lunch and some of the falling-down stuff, too. I'm not used to drinking during the day, so, by the time we came home and our friends had left, I spent the rest of the afternoon asleep on the sofa! The friends we were with are the ones who run a fish and chip van; they have just obtained permission from mayor of a beautiful village not far from us to have their van near the local bar every other Tuesday evening, starting this week. The people who own the bar have really gone to town advertising the event, and they have fifty people booked already, so DH and I have been asked to take the orders. The bar is wonderful, right next to a river - it's the most beautiful spot. Should be a lot of fun.

Maytaurus - how lovely to hear from you and thanks for a wonderful post. I loved the links about traffic in Paris, and all the photos and patterns too. You put such a lot of time and effort into your posts and make them really personal to all of us. Thank you. I hope you are feeling better now.

LC Wilson (bunting Queen!) - good to hear from you. (((Hugs))) to you and your family.

Pippa - the wedding sounds wonderful. What a lovely girl your niece must be, but such a lot of sadness in her life but thank heavens she has her Aunty Pippa with her. I wish her a long and happy marriage.

Thank you all for your updates; I'll try and do them today, if not tomorrow. DH is home today because we have our first appointment with our new doctor today and a couple of other errands to run. We need to buy some wine to take back to the UK with us, too. I also need to start packing just in case we leave for the UK earlier than expected; it all depends on when the baby is born. I'm getting really excited now because I know it won't be much longer.

Anyway, will catch up a bit later.

Hope you all have a good day.

Thanks again all, I just love this site its so nice and friendly and comfortable IYKWIM :A

Maytaurus - your posts just get better and better they cheer me up no end
Elaine - yes I will do some toys for the L/H postage fund no problem, are hedgehogs ok as I have some furry wool, and I'll do some tiny teds as well they dont take long and will be good for stocking fillers for Christmas ;) A good idea BTW :T
Kathy - It sounds lovely where you are. Unmarked electric fences though:eek:

Had a lovely day yesterday, DS2,DIL and DGS turned up and stayed the whole day I was in my element, LO played in water as it was sooo hot, we stuck a hat on him and plastered him in factor 50.
I found all the bath toys out that the girls have when they are here filled a bowl with water and he loved it.
Then filled his watering can and he filled the birdbath took about half an hour, he got more over him than in the BB.:D
He ended up soaked but happy. We bought a kiddy size tent (only £4'99) from The Works a while ago so we put that up for him and he loved it.

We are off to Tewkesbury today to meet up with BIL and SIL (the nice ones);) it was his birthday last month and we have decided not to buy for each other any more, we never know what to get anyway, so we treat them on their birthdays and they do likewise.
Its lovely to meet up for a few hours somewhere we can relax and go for a browse round the shops and a walk along the river.

Off for a shower now, have good days all

Hi everyone. You're all doing so well with the knitting. I'm trying so hard to get some done but I keep getting roped in to helping with the work on the house! We'ere out this afternoon, too, so I hope to get some done tonight. I have a little parcel of things ready for the new baby, and a square for Chalky, and some hats and booties to sew up for Shelley. I also want to make a couple of hedgies for Elaine's challenge, too, which I will try very hard to do before we leave for the UK.

Pippa - your DGS sounds so gorgeous and happy! He's obviously really settled in to the family, hasn't he?

Well, I'll catch up a bit later - I have to go and hold up a sink while the taps are fitted, apparently!
