Hi Ann - I don't think a tombola/raffle prize constitutes "selling"!
luv
Pam:smileyhea
Hmmmm, yes. We will be selling tickets to win prizes - and it`s for charitable purposes, not financial gain.??
Maytaurus - never sure what you might find in my machines. I once found a little boy in my tumble drier. :rotfl:My first son was about two ( he`s 30 now ) when he decided we would play hide and seek one day. Fine, he hid behind chairs, sofa, curtains - all the usual places. I had taken washing out of the tumble dryer in the kitchen and was folding it up in the dining room. Suddenly heard the machine going, dashed into kitchen opened the door and discovered DS - IN THE DRYER  It was a big one, same size as WM with little holes in the door for vents. DS had climbed in (to hide)put his little fingers in the holes, pulled it and the door clicked shut. The timer obviously hadn`t completely finished and the machine started up. Fortunately it was on cool down and he was none the worse of his escapade. He did look a bit green when I got him out though . TD I have now is a small one - but DGS did try to climb in one day, little monkey.!!
Done a bit more of gents jumper for LH, about an inch to do before the back is finished so think I`ll do that before going to bed.
DGD back from her hols, demanding to know where her purple hat is - bad Grandma hasn`t done it yet, smack wrists.:D
Elaine.

Hi, I'm back, firstly I must apologise to PippaS for my extremely short, almost abrupt message before.
I had just sat down to have a waffle & my doorbell rang - it was my brother, complete with a beautiful bouquet and a card for my birthday tomorrow, so I finished it off in a hurry (obviously).
Well, I had a lovely day - appointment at the bank this morning was positive - trying to move my mortgage to take advantage of the low rates just now, (very MSE!:rotfl:).
From noon to about 7.30 was spent in the garden with PamsPal, she was helping me clear a particularly scrambled bed which was overwhelmed with geraniums and buttercups. We then dug up a couple of (small) trees and other perennials to give to PamsPal's nephew who is trying to establish his garden (while he is out of work), another hour or so uprooting / potting up seedling plants.
All this was interspersed with regular water/tea breaks. Later PPs DH came over to do the heavy work, some deep rooted remains of last years clearance and then 3 more youngish trees for the nephew, this after a quick picnic tea which was, of course accompanied with wine & beer. Our work rate slowed a bit after that.:rotfl:
I now have a totally exhausted little dog who "helped" all afternoon, itchy arms from the conifers and a glass with the last of the wine. I'm feeling good:j
There we are, waffle about done.
K2Tog, ISOM, have a good holiday.
((Hugs)) to everyone

ISOM - have a fantastic time and enjoy the peace and quiet. Hope the weather is good for you.
PSSO - I bet you were glad the TD was on 'cool', weren't you? Glad your visit to the bank was positive. Just in case we get 'the' call today and leave for the UK, I'll say Happy Birthday for tomorrow - if we're still here, I can say it again! I managed to crochet a couple of little purses which I will send with the hedgies for your stall. I found some really bright pink wool which I've used with purple for the purses. They're only simple but I don't want to start anything too involved right now because my mind us all up in the air, waiting to hear from DS2! I'll probably get them in the post either tomorrow or Monday - wherever I am!
Well, I hear from comments on the OS Daily that the sun is shining in the UK, so I won't feel guilty about telling you how gorgeous it is here - and has been for the whole week! It's already about 26-27 degrees with a perfect blue sky. Sadly, I have ironing to do and will need to get it done before it gets too warm.
For those of you doing the Loving Hands quiz - twice this week, although I did it as quickly as I could, it has recorded my time as way too long! One day, apparently, I took over 9,000 seconds and yesterday, over 18,000! I shall have another go today - if it keeps happening, I'll have to stop doing it because it's making me cross!
Anyway, I'd better go and get the chores done and put the ironing board up. Hope you all have a great day.

ISOM - enjoy your holiday hope the weather is kind to you
Pam - no appology needed x I know sometimes when we post on here then read it back it does sound a bit short, but also know its not intended to
kathy - had to go to the Doc's yesterday for my breathing clinic, she gave me a new inhaler last month and I did'nt think it was doing any good, but my tests had improved from last time so it must be doing something. She has told me to do something to make me out of breath to exercise my lungs, no need I said I have DGD's to look after for a week :rotfl:
I am sooo excited DS1,DIL and DGD's are coming up either tonight or tomorrow for my nieces(she got married last week) wedding party and the girls are staying with us for a whole week :T DS and DIL want to get the artex off all the ceilings before it falls off, and asked if we would have the girls for a bit, of course I said NO:rolleyes:;)
First thing they will want to do is go to Cadbury World, which is only a few minutes from us, then it will be park, park, park all week
Better go get the beds all made up and the toys out, then settle down with my knitting for a bit,
Anne
x
edit: thanks Elaine0 -
Hi everyone.
Pippa - what is the name of your new inhaler? I was taken off the one I had been asked to try (which wasn't helping) and put on a different one a few months ago, and, the last time I visited my chest clinic in the UK, my peak flow readings had gone up so well that the nurse got really excited! My new doctor here gave me a prescription for both my inhalers and I collected them the other day. I had started to run out and was not using them as often as I should have been; I was worried that they would not be able to prescribe the same things over here, so I was 'weaning' myself off them! However, alls well that ends well. I was also very impressed with the pharmacy here - the lady on the till simply typed all my details from the prescription into her computer, and I expected to be told to come back in twenty minutes or so; instead, the products came racing across the ceiling and down a shute next to the till less than two minutes later! Two different inhalers together came to €12.08 (of which I will get around 70% reimbursed when my Carte Vitale (official health card) finally gets here. The pharmacy gives you a 'fille de soins' form on which you place a bar-coded sticker from the product, then you send the form back to the health authority to reclaim the money. Once I have my Carte Vitale it will be repaid automatically into my bank account. So far it all seems very efficient. As far as making the lungs get out of breath is concerned, when I was in the UK I went to the local gym (called Curves) for thirty minutes exercise three times a week; I found that really did help. I don't have a local gym (well, to be honest, I haven't actually looked for one!) so I put some music on and dance round the kitchen table every now and again - don't laugh! It actually makes you feel really good, even if you do look a bit mad dancing all on your own! Children love to join in, too! I had great fun with DGS and DGD dancing with them when they used to come to visit after school.
Well, I've just prepped for dinner, then was just about to start the ironing when my FIL phoned from Cyprus - we spoke for about five minutes then the phone went dead, so we've been trying to phone each other back for ages! I think we've both decided to try again later.
Well, better plug the iron in.

hi all, hope everyone is well, not been online for a few days, so a lot of posts to catch up on.
happy birthday pam
reason for being ofline, is, i was rushed into hospital sunday night, with a suspected heart attack, the pain was unbearable, and i couldnt get my breathe, cos the ecg's were abnormal, they kept me in and did a lot of blood tests, ecg's still irregular, so i have a follow up appointment to attend.
yesterday as a treat bf, took me to textere mills for a get well treat :j, bought loads lovely wool, bf said hey treat yourself while we can afford it, we are planning on living together later this year, and will have less money coming in, than we do now, even tho i dont work, and claim benefits, when we live together, i will lose that. so as well as the lovely wool, i bought a couple knitting books, a some more dpn's. at the till when the lady said £213.87  please, i nearly fell through floor lol anyway bf got out his credit card with a smile, and said is that all :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
in the car on the way home, he said i cant go back again, til next year
hugs all
shaz xenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -

Shaz - that must have been the most frightening experience for you and the family. Your BF sounds like the most perfect partner for you; I'm sure he takes great care of you. Please keep us informed of progress with the follow-up appointments, and please take it easy. What a lovely spend-up - you truly deserve it.
