Hi peeps!, gosh what a quiet day on here! I hope you're all busy enjoying yourselves and not working too hard.
I've had a busy couple of days, errands and meetings plus a visit to Mum. Another meeting tomorrow morning then free for the day but, Pamspal takes charge from lunchtime so, weather permitting we're doing over one of my flower beds, if its rainy we may skive off down to the shops.

Toys for Elaine - I've had to lay off the crochet animals while my fingers recover from using the small hook. Was going to start a nice ball in sock yarn only to find I had every size circ/dp needles but the one I needed so just having a ponder, may have a good pattern that I want to do will have a look after this post!

Kathy - a fish & chip supper AND pocket money! What a lucky girl!

Elaine - a mechanic in the making - Well Done!

K2tog - well done with the Gown - they are beautiful aren't they.

    Hugs to everyone!

    luv

    G'mornin all!

well, I don't know - looks like I could be the first post today, as its so quiet I've had a look at my pattern bookmarks and found ths which I made as a travel companion for PamsPals trip to NZ earlier this year, it was an easy make,

    http://zodwollopp.webs.com/emilspeababepattern.htm

    3219046590_b580b787a7.jpg

I did it in different colours, embroidered eyes and with not so many leaves on the hat but it travelled all the way to NZ and back and now lives in her study!

Be aware that it is tightly crocheted and if you use old fashioned steel hooks you might end up with a sore finger prob. like me! (mine's better now so I look forward to getting back to the teddy tonight)

(((HUGS))) to everyone who'd like one!

    luv

K2tog - have a brilliant time away. Hope you are going somewhere nice and sunny!

Pam - I love that pattern! It's so cute, isn't it? I might try it with a wooden hook, though. Hope your finger is getting better.

Maytaurus - lovely post and the words about adoption brought tears to my eyes; just wait until Pippa reads it. I have a lump in my throat every time I think about it, knowing that her little DGS will have the most wonderful life with a loving family - just think if her DS and DIL hadn't chosen to adopt; it doesn't bear thinking about.

Your post is fantastic, as usual. The 'love' pattern might be used to add to a cushion for my sons and their wives for Christmas, and maybe for my Mum, too, so thanks for that. I shall go back and look at the other patterns you've linked for us.

I turned out a load of no-longer-needed paperwork from my filing cabinet last week; the cabinet has two shelves for box files and ring binders and, underneath the shelves, it has two rails that swing out for putting suspension files in and most of the files are now empty, just swinging there waiting for a purpose in life - I've just had the brilliant brainwave of using them for my knitting patterns! I'm so impressed with myself for thinking about it. I can store them all in their different categories and they'll be so much easier to look through. Mind you, it'll take me ages to do but it's one of those jobs that I will really enjoy. Can you tell I'm excited?!

Still waiting for the new baby to 'happen' - I'll just have to be patient!

    Pam - love your peababe.

Maytaurus - so many cute critters - I`ll have to try to progress my crochet skills from my blanket level - could take a while tho`. it`s only taken me umpteen years to learn how to do a HUGE granny square so don`t hold your breath folks.

Going to have to blitz my bedroom today - have to make some room for all these lovely donations I`ve been promised. I wonder if I could get an extension built over the weekend :think: - times like these I wish I had a garage.

Best get cracking now as have to go see Bank Manager this afternoon .

    Hi Ann - I don't think a tombola/raffle prize constitutes "selling"!

oh love the zodwallop...looking and for the name...wonder if I could call my next cat that..possibly shortened to zod?!! No knitting this eve as been giving cat babysitting instruction (never realised how much it involves lol!) and a phone call to discuss birthday arrangements (40 on the 30th..how did I get there so quick!) and with mum to discuss hol on Sat in yorkshire for a wk....am really looking forward to it! no major excitement but in a remote cottage with days out, no work and some eve knitting and early nights. Possibly more than ever... I need a week off...
Maytaurus thank you, as always for your lovely post. Have (as a social worker - sorry cant help myself!) been analsing why I love your posts and think its because of the thought and time you take for each and, being a visual person, love the beautiful piccies! Loved the adoption poem....its my day job (for almost a decade!) and children are my focus but always good to have a reminder of how priveledged/blessed am I that I get to participate in "knitting families" and to make a diference in such real way...
Will be on briefly tomorrow after work and packing and then off for a week...no internet connection and apparently a phone signal if you stand in a field with your arm in the air but no internet lol!!!
Miol...hope the baby some safe and soon
Psso...continued prayers and hugs as you adjust to a new life and all that goes with that...
for the rest of you have a lovely week...will think of you as I finish "the" shawl and will, of course, post a photo when its done!! with big hugs...
