    Morning all,

Hope all are well, good news it's sunny here today and shh! meant to be for the next few days ds's will be happy to get out and play and my washing pile might come down a bit too.:j

Pam - Have just spent an hour on priscilla hewitts site and there is so much I want to make. Thanks for the link.:T

Mioliere - I haven't seen that programme but I cannot imagine spending that much just on food, I thought my boys ate a lot. It feels good to use up all the left overs doesn't it? It's a pet hate of mine to throw food away.:D

Shaz - your bf sounds lovely and supportive, my dh is like that with me although I think it's only cos I let him get his drum kit and endless amounts of cymbals and drumsticks etc etc etc...:D

Right I'm off to get a cuppa and put me feet up with some knitting as I've got a day off today.:j

    take care all.x

Kathy - I read your post on the daily earlier, some people just don't stop and think before they buy, yes I am sure we could have chopped another few £££'s off the bill, its the OS thing....gets to be a habit thinking before you buy, and value for money I missed the programme, but will have a look later and see if its on catch back. ;)

Only Girl - yes I'm the same just hate to throw food away, must say though it's rare that anything goes in our bin, even out of date stuff, within reason  we have an OOD (July 2008)packet jelly with fruit for pud tonight, had one last week and it was fine.

ISOM - Just read your blog, and enjoyed it I did'nt find it dull at all :T

Shaz - O what a lovely man your BF is, :A

Finally bought myself a stash box on wheels, its got 3 quite large drawers and fits under the stairs. Got it from MAKRO
It took ages to sort out all the stash to go in it, its full now and tidy (for a bit anyway) I still have 2 large boxes also under the stairs and 2 smaller ones (from Poundland) which I tend to put WIP in.

I keep one for the ripple blanket so I can see at a glance if I am running out of any of the colours, keeps it all tidy as well.

back later have good days all

Pippa - your wool stash sounds so organised, it puts mine to shame! Because we still haven't finished all the rooms, I have the wool that I'm working with, and for the next couple of projects, in our temporary sitting-room/office where I knit, another box upstairs in a non-spidery room, and another box in a very spidery room (it's the original attic which will eventually be converted but, at the moment, has some haunted-house cobwebs in it!). I only look through that box when DH is with me, and he can get the wool out of the box! I must ask Jean how she copes with the spiders and also what we call eyelashes - ugly scuttly centipedes that run faster than the spiders! She must have learned how to deal with them by now!

With sell-by dates, there are lots of foods that can be used after they are supposed to have expired, aren't there? I've always tried to economise in the kitchen but I used to throw away much more than I do these days! After all, in the old days, nothing ever went to waste, did it?

Well, I've decided to clear out the filing cabinet of stuff that is no longer relevant now we've left the UK, things like gas bills, and so on, so I've got lots of empty files left which will be great for organising all my knitting patterns.

    Morning all.

Pam - postie came this morning, ta very much.
He also brought my Kemps order, only ordered it at 10.30ish on Tuesday night so top marks for delivery. Only snag is the white satin perle is that very thin DK, so I`ll have to double it I think.

Jean - thanks for the pm.

    Kathy - re - Economy Gastronomy - Next week's couple apparently spend £17,000 a year on food:eek:! £326 per week:eek::eek::eek:!!
Bet a lot of people don`t even EARN £326 and what about those on benefits - Jim was only getting £90 a week before he died, so I`d like to see them doing it REALLY OS style - bet we could teach them a few tricks eh ??

Right, off for a coffee, then water those da**ed plants before I have to pick up DD at 1.30. She has a hospital appointment at 3, a follow up on the op she had on her wrist in December. Don`t know what the consultant will say - she`s in more pain now than she was before the op. BTW we sat in the A&E dept on Sunday night for a couple of hours, The silly thing tripped going up the stairs and put her hand out to save herself. It swelled up so much and she was in so much pain that I thought she had broken it. Nothing broken however, just sprained, although that can sometimes be even more painful.

We just seem to be going from one disaster to another these days
Back later, have a good day.

Elaine - that was great service from Kemps; you must be delighted. It's a shame that the white satin perle is a bit thin, but I'm sure it will be fine doubled up.

I agree with you about the programme; I hope that, in some of the episodes, they feature more realistic families like those on low incomes or benefits.

I hope the hospital visit goes well.

wish i had seen that programme, and like others have said, would be interested in them with a family on benefits. nothing, and i mean nothing is ever wasted in my house, with two hungry teens, and being on income support myself, i know how to budget, more money for wool lol :j
enjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)

    Hi All

Elaine I was going to going to give you one of these :A for leaving the wool shop empty handed but then what did you do  on Kemps? I'll send you one :Aanyway for rescuing those poor balls of wool :D. Who knows what would have become of them!
Going to have a look at the knitting books mentioned (and probably the mags too) as I love reading, but it doesn't half interfere with knitting - hence too much time surfing and knitting slows down. I think I want something that straps to my nose or som ething so I can still scroll down and read and knit :rotfl:
Sorry to hear you are having a horrible time Lou. It sounds like you have post-traumatic stress disorder or similar. Are you getting any help with it? Well done on the weight loss too - your Kelty meetings must be torture with all those goodies about.
Still waiting for my shortie circulars *sigh* and I'm being very good not buying any more wool just yet - wonder how long that will last!
Kathy maybe you should knit a big spider and hang it in your spidery room. If it's bigger than the spiders that live there, they might be scared and run away :rotfl:. Funnily enough, I do believe I saw a spider pattern on one of the toy pattern sites. I'll add it to my list. Hope everyone is well x
