morning everyone, its a bit gloomy here, but i must sparkle as i have loads to do before i go to france for 3 weeks. i believe that i have an appointment (sometime between 9am and 5pm) with france telecom, so i shall spend my first day in the house waiting for the phone man and watching the builders work. luckily for me the builders will be starting on site at 6am so there will be no way that i could possibly oversleep and miss the phone chap.

i am making my way through my projects, and have also bought loads of stock of wool (18 balls of 100g DK) to take with me on my 3 week trip, i thought that i could make a few oxfam jumpers during that time!

oh well, i think its time to tidy up the house, then have a quick coffee break and then start working on the list in my diary.

have a wonderful day everyone ... maytaurus we miss you.

    Morning all

We are off to a wedding tomorrow as well, its my neice, it will be a sad day as well as a happy one, my sister (her Mum) wont be there as she died suddenly a while ago. I have had to promise not to look my neice in the eye when she walks up the aisle, that will be hard, but thats what she wants so thats how it will be, she does'nt want to get to the altar in tears, lots of tissues in the bag I think.
Oddly though the wedding party is next Saturday,

Elaine - It's awful sitting about waiting is'nt it, hope they find out whats wrong when they do the MRI,

dpixie - enjoy your time in France, hope their Telecom dont take too long to get you connected ;)

Chalky - have a lovely time in the 'sunshine bus' what a great name, is it a VW camper by any chance??? I love weddings all that lovely cake with icing and marzipan.... ooo I luv marzipan :D:rotfl:

mrs-moneypenney - enjoy your time away where you off to?

k2tog - , I think I may have joined a while ago but cant remember  I'll go take a look, my brain lately, think its taken a few days off

    :hello: maytaurus

Kathy - hope the barnet looks ok with a bit of French chic;)

I finished my 2 friendship squares last night and had an hour on the ripple blanket.
Also did a few IS hats with all the short bits I'd joined together, they look quite good, lot of sewing ends to do though, but very colourful and stripey  Can't remember who it was but the suggestion came from someone on here to join them all together instead of throwing them away, well just to let you know.....it works :T

better go get started on something I have rambled a lot this AM :o

  • Weekend coming up fast, I hope if your going on holiday you have only sunny days and peaceful nights, if you have a wedding (lucky folks) enjoy the dancing and the cake, if your staying at home I hope you all get to do what you want to do and not forced into ironing, cleaning, washing etc. Oh by the way in Brittany they only know how to shear sheep - hope you fair better than that Kathy, but I warn you now. Will post updates later on when I may have managed a bit more knitting. Our camper is called the Magic Bus - and DH plays the WHO all the time - its a bit wearing.

yes - got your message - no problem, I will be posting parcels for you and chalky75 tomorrow.

Been browsing (again :rotfl:) and I've found a crochet garterlac pattern - do you remember we had a play with knitting it earlier this year - looks nice but I haven't tried it yet -

Hi everyone. Jean - thanks for giving me confidence about the hairdresser - NOT!! My hair is long, all one length, and dead straight - surely they can't mess that up.....can they:confused::eek:?

Well, I've just got back from the shopping, put some sans plomb in my car, and bought a couple of pressies for DGS and DGD. Our local supermarket has more or less finished revamping the car park so there was a bit more organisation there after the chaos of last week. For some reason, I kept hearing English voices in the supermarket - when you're still feeling a bit lost, it's very comforting. I actually helped one couple who didn't know where to get their veggies weighed - they jumped out of their skin because I could hear their conversation and said 'the scales are over there; you weigh them yourself and get a ticket to put on whatever it is you buy'. They were looking even more lost than I was!

Pippa - how very very sad. It's brought tears to my eyes thinking about it. It will be so hard not to catch your niece's eye as she walks up the aisle, but I know you will do as she has asked. Please give her lots of (((hugs))) from me - it's going to be a difficult day for her and everyone else. I wish her a long and happy marriage, and I'm sure your sister will be there in spirit.

Pam - I love that crochet garterlac (why oh why do you keep coming up with things that I want to do?!!!). I've knitted entrelac in different colours, but I've never crocheted it, and I love that it shows it in one colour - very effective for throws, cushions and blankets. I also love the egg-yolk colour in the picture, too:T:j.

Well, now I|'ve had a reviving cup of coffee and a 'chat' on here, I'd better put the shopping away. I hate that job so much. I bought loads of meat which needs batching up into meal-sized portions, and loads of lovely fruit and veg and so on, but I've decided that we're having sausage, egg and chips for dinner:D! Toulouse sausages at that, which are, quite frankly, delicious! And the adopted cat and her kitten like them, too!

Enough waffle - see you later.

Good morning everyone, hope you are all having a good day.

Shezmit - sorry I didn't get to the post office so it may be Tuesday before I send the parcel.

Pippa - I did that with all my little bits of wool. I used the Russian join for the ends so I had no ends to sew in. A bit fiddly but not too bad. I ended up with a wonderful random effect cushion cover.
Maytaurus - hope you are ok.
Chalky - hope you have a great time away.
Mioliere -you always feel better for a new haircut when you haven't been for a while.
dpixie - sounds like you'll get loads of knitting done while you're away!
prfungi - we used to have a family of hedgehogs, but the slugs got so big they frightened them away:rotfl:
hi to anyone I forgot and hugs to all
