thanks kathy i didnt know that. ill probally use that as my holiday reading (between knitting of course) ill let you know what its like.

i saw a mag in tescos on saturday it was sealed in a polybag so you couldnt actually see the mag it said it had balls of wool and needles worth £8 free inside and showed patterns of a muffin, fingerless gloves and little things like that that you could knit with free wool so i assume it had those patterns. i nearly brought it till i searched for the price in little teeny tiny writing it was £7.99:eek:.
cant remember which mag but one has free beads on and i think it has a muffin pattern but dont know how much that is.

I picked up yours with the boys knitted tank top pattern in thank you to the person who pointed that out:T

LOL i knit faster near the ends of balls as well, i love meatloaf been to see him twice now. the bat out of hell tour years ago and earlier this year he is still brilliant live.
ive got boring sky news on at the mo only because i havent bothered to change channels since DH went to work and the kids aren't up yet. i really should make the most of the mornings and put the billy fury cd on that DD brought me for my birthday

Morning all, well the youngsters are both dropped off at work, the dogs have been fed, washing machine is doing it`s thing, I`m having brekkie here and catching up with the surfing - need to do my exercise, surfing-exercise get it ?? Oh never mind me, I`m in silly mood this morning for some reason.

Mrs M, I saw that mag yesterday and it went back on the shelf PDQ I can tell you, OK it said that the `freebies` were worth £8 but still..........it`s a lot of money.

Yes, I tend to knit faster if I think my wool is running out too, and can definitely relate to the knitting in time with the music thing. I do that when I`m decorating - wallpaper scrapes off much more quickly to a nice fast catchy tune for some reason;)

dpixie I started the ripple pattern a wee while before Jim went in to hospital and had decided to make it long enough to be a scarf, it`s still lying neglected in the corner as I`ve been busy with other things. It`s definitely a WIP though as I found the pattern really easy.

Right, toast & coffee are finished so I`ll just pop over to the LH forum for a look and then I`m off to tackle the housework..........maybe.:rotfl:

ps. Pam forgot to say I`m not as naughty as you, my order from Kemps for my silvery wool etc is only just over £20 (inc p&p)

Tried to find the pattern for them but cant.... not much of a techi me

Chalky - the blanket's looking really good. I love your applique cards
mrs-m - I was the one who bought the pattern at an extortionate price £2.50  then Mum gave me her Yours mag with it in  never mind, its a nice easy pattern to do and looks good
Elaine - how kind of you to rescue all those poor balls of wool
Maytaurus -
Kathy and mrs-m - I bought 2 books from Amazon called 'Divas dont knit' and 'Needles and Pearls' (I am saving them both for our next holiday) They were recommended by someone on L/H a while ago and reading the blurb they sound quite funny

Hi all - I've got quite a bit of work done so I thought it was time for a break with a nice cup of coffee.

£8 is such a lot to pay for a magazine, isn't it? I thought £4.99 was bad enough! It's not fair that they seal them up either; everyone wants to know that they will get value for money before spending that amount of money.

All this talk about music has made me think of one of the songs that always gets me in a good mood and ready to tackle anything. It's 'Who's That Lady?' by the Isley Brothers - it's years old, so I am definitely giving my age away! I have a really long version of it and I just love it.

Elaine - well done on rescuing that wool! It was obviously meant to go home with you where it will be well-treated and appreciated!

Kinsey - join the 'thousand and one projects in the head' club!

The photos on the Wooligans are lovely. I must spend more time on there, which I will do once I've come back from my trip to the UK. With that, this thread, and, hopefully, a blog (or more, if anyone else is thinking of doing one??!), we should have every aspect of knitting and crochet covered! I should be a lot more organised when I come back. I'll never have to do end-of-year business accounts (well, I hope I won't!), which have taken up a lot of my time and mental energy, and, now that we are getting more and more organised here, I should be able to organise my time, too. It might be a good idea, too, to tell Attic24 what we do. I'm sure she'd be interested.

Well, coffee has all gone so I'd better get back to the grindstone!

Morning all,

Just been catching up on all your news, I've spent far too much time looking at patterns and all the housework has been left so I spent all yesterday cleaning still didn't tackle the ironing though. I had all the boys school uniform turn up yesterday as well so loads of name tags to sew on now:mad:. Don't like that job.

Mrs Mp - thanks for the links to the hat patterns. I bought that mag with the free wool & needles on saturday I didn't realise how expensive it was until I got home 7.99:eek: I thought it would only be a few quid.

ISOM - thanks for the link to attic 24, I have looked at it before she is an inspiration, everything is so colourful, wish my house looked like hers.

Mioliere - the idea of a blog sounds great and I'm sure it would be a success.

Better get on, take care all.x

• What was I thinking off – I am so dumb I should be wearing a warning, I have been knitting juggling balls, easy to do set of three in an evening while the telly is on and I have done loads. Anyway, today I decided I would do a wee parcel for Lou at LH, pops in all sorts and then weighed it... DOH, nearly a repeat of the previous parcel. So I have decided against sending juggling balls that I have carefully stuffed with lentils or rice or peas or anything else and have instead sent them off needing stitched and stuffed and a note to Lou. I really didn't think now how daft is that – can anybody beat that one? Perhaps I need to lie down in a darkened room for a while.

Jean - you're not daft at all! You were just concentrating hard on the actual knitting, that's all. Lou's daughter is always happy to stuff the boobs so I'm sure she'll enjoy stuffing your juggling balls. As for the darkened room, I've had no choice but to close the shutters here because of the sun! It's been a beautiful day but too hot to enjoy! I sat outside with a cuppa for fifteen minutes and that was enough!

Anyway, off to put the kettle on again!

Close the shutters because of the sun? I'm thinking of getting a light box and a snorkel!
