Hi everyone. Welcome back, Chalky; glad you had such a good time and a big spend-up at 'Arrods!! I couldn't believe £18.95 for a bowl of soup! Are people mad? Love the names of your newborn hedgies!!

My squares are ready for posting now; I've just finished sewing in the ends. I'll get them off probably in Saturday's post.

I've alsp heard from the Poetry people - they want me to do blanks, one knitted and one crocheted, but they have asked that they are made in real wool; I don't think I have any so I'll buy some when I am back in the UK.

    Well, back to some knitting.

Kathy Lou mentioned on the LH thread about the poetry squares that she has some pure wool that she wouldnt mind sending out to be used for this project as she gets it donated but most LH knitters prefer to knit with non pure wool. I sent her a PM asking if i could have some and offered to include some stamps to cover it in my next parcel. i haven't heard back from her yet but its worth asking as it will free her some space up and convert unused wool to postage funds.

im getting my letter 'T' in the post i got an email reply yesterday saying because tey hadn't got my email addy they were sending me the letter instructions by post. I'd emailled them my postal addy previously so if they have my addy they've also got my email:rotfl:.

can you post the link again for the wooligans site please i thought it was on the 1st page but i cant find it

    G'mornin all
It started out lovely and sunny here but the clouds are gathering again now:mad:
I've been having fun converting a couple of the hat patterns, its usually straightforward depending on the decreasing - I like to check it out at that point and the safest way is to cast on knit a couple of rows in pattern then decrease.

I really like the Boyfriend hat - simple to knit and the decreasing makes a really attractive pattern on the crown, works well on 2 needles but I think I'll try it "in the round" as its an easy one.

Onlygirl I like using circular needles but really dislike dpns - I get very mixed up with them, however I've read that using 5 needles rather than 4 makes it easier. Haven't tried it myself.

I've treated myself to some circulars with interchangeable points and hope to do my xmas prezzy hats on them - when I get to that point on my to do list :rotfl::rotfl:

Speaking of which - the list won't get any shorter if I stay here waffling!

    'bye for now everyone ((hugs))

    luv

Mrs Moneypenny - here's the link to the Wooligans http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/Wooligan/?v=1&t=search&ch=web&pub=groups&sec=group&slk=1
That made me laugh - emailling you to say they didn't have your email address!!
I would have liked to do a letter for the poem! Still, I suppose they need the blanks as well and it'll be hard to get them wrong! Thanks for the mention about Lou having some pure wool but I think it would be costly to send it to France. Having said that, though, I've just remembered that I have some 1st clas stamps that I could send her. I will ask her if she can send me some; if not, it's not that long until I am back in the UK.

hello, well I must get on with knitting a bunting this afternoon.

Im looking for a pattern to make some balls (with 2 needles) as DS3 is 8 months and it help him to crawl ( I know once he starts I wish he never had!!!)
Also looking for a pattern for doll type thing that I can make clothes for that he can undress, fasten buttons etc. Do you know what I mean. My other children used to have one but it was made of cloth, just hoping to knit something along those lines. are there Any other toys that you think might be good

Thank you, I'd be lost without you all.

Hi, you could try this pattern

    http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1275

also if you join freepatterns.com they have another pattern called bambam balls which look fun for children. but you do have to join to access the patterns, it is free however. I haven't checked if either of these are two needles but I don't think they are complicated.

    Hi all
Inbetween trying to get things sorted for our camping trip (we go next Thursday), have been surfing and found the following...

Tracey - for your knitted balls...

    http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=2566

    http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1272

    http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/toys/woollyball.htm

    http://www.beingvirtuouswomen.com/cms/homemaking/handbasket/knitted_yarn_ball.php

And just to add, in the latest Knit Today magazine (August, Issue 36) there are some really simple patterns for blocks and ball...

My DD is just 10 months and has just mastered the crawling - we have wooden floors and she has been sliding all over the place, until we took her to visit GreatGrandma yesterday (who has carpets...) and there we are, no stopping her!!

and for dolls/dolls clothes, try this one:
    http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/dolls_clothes.php
there are lots to explore on there, and they're all free!

There will be some Jean Greenhowe dolls out there too, and I know I have some doll patterns. I'll have a look....

    Kathy - Baker Boy hats:

    http://www.lincraft.com.au/view_project.php?id=152

I've just discovered the Lincraft site ....spent far too much time looking at the project sheets!!

Have loads of stuff to pack up for Shelley and Lou before we go, so will do my "to the end of July" totals next week when all the buntings and stuff are sorted.

Linda (Chalky) hope the squares arrived!

And a whoops moment - order from Readicut arrived this morning, and I simply don't remember ordering anything! Thankfully, it's a pot luck Sirdar Click, and it's white, so v useful! Also some storage bags which I am sure I can fill to while away the camping nights when DD and DS are asleep!

Hope we're all well, big huggles to everyone,

    Dawn xx
