Hi everyone. Back to normal, I'm up early this morning! I've just done the update and will post it in my next post. Pippa - I have made every effort to get yours right this time!
I'm sure Chalky will be amazed by how many Memory (9) and Friendship (11) squares have been made!
Well, today I am determined to have a day at home after all the running around we did yesterday. Still, it was a good day and we were pleased with how much we managed to get done. I have finally arranged insurance on my car; my UK insurance ran out last month - I've been using DH's van for shopping when he's not been using it or waiting for him to take me out. Cars here have to be 'type approved' - his van was, my car wasn't. You have to get a certificate of conformity to get it approved. Anyway, we came up trumps with Axa (in price and sorting out certificate of conformity). I just have to take my bank details into Axa and I'll finally be insured to drive here. We have three months in which to get French plates on both vehicles, so that will be the next thing on the list.
Jean - my BIL who has been without the phone here for almost a month, has finally been reconnected! France Telecom are keeping true to form here!
Anyway, this morning I shall do some more of DH's accounts (the 'best' bit, yawn, yawn - logging all the purchase receipts and invoices onto the spreadsheet) and this afternoon I shall do some more knitting.
We had a beautiful day here yesterday but can't tell yet whether today will be the same.
I hope you all have a great day. Will post the update now - please let me know if I have made any mistakes!

Elaine i hope you are ok
sorry to be the first to put in an ammendment kathy, youve got me down for 1 friendship square i have sent 4 off
targets are looking brilliant, and im sure now lou has posted the autumn challenges and with the weather being so bad we will all feel more inclinded to knit
hit a bit of a snag with my school blanket yesterday i got half way through my last orange square and ran out of wool:mad: so ive got to wait till saturday when DH is blood doaning so i can nip and hopefully get a matching ball. I've left it on a spare needle to hopefully finish at the weekend and am on my 2nd yellow one now.
off out celebrating again tonight- table is booked:beer:
will pop back later have a good day allSPC~12 ot 124

Morning all,
Brilliant totals again, it's quite a list to read through now and I did smile at chalky's 60 hedgehogs, I just imagine them all snuggled up together keeping warm.
Mrs moneypenny - It's really annoying when you run out of wool in the middle of something isn't it? Sounds like a lovely blanket, I hope you will post some photo's when you've finished.
Mioliere - what a performance just to drive your car, sounds like there's a lot of needless red tape involved. Glad you got it sorted now though, I'd be lost without my car.
Have a good day everyone.x:jWooligans Totals 2010:
2 preemie hats, 2 preemie gowns, 1 bunting, 1 sleeping bag, 12 chalky squares0 -
Mrs Moneypenny - I'm so sorry I got your totals wrong. I'll put it right as soon as I've finished this post. I've just seen your post on the OS Daily - what a lovely card your DH got for you! Have a very Happy Anniversary!
Only Girl - there is a lot of what seems like pointless red tape here! Cars that are imported have to be approved here; there are ways around it but you don't always know until you start looking into it! Just in case anyone needs the info - in your car's registration document, on page 2 - where all the details of the car are listed - line K says 'type approval number' - if you have a number there, then your car is 'type approved' apparently! My car is a BMW 532i - it's a petrol manual, which is unusual apparently, but, if it had been a diesel automatic, it would have already been approved.Complicated, isn't it?!!
You also have similar hoops to go through to get registered for healthcare and so on - the one good thing about all this is that it helps improve your grasp of French!!
Anyway, off to put Mrs Moneypenny's totals right!

happy anniversary Mrs MP!
Hello all! Huge relief from me...thought the shawl was endless but thankfuy its measures sideways so am over half way there! Whew! Had to invest in some round needles as the others were full by end of row!
Thanks for doing the totals m...very organised you are! Hope to get some more done when I've done the shawl and the onto fergs jumper!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
How very timely Pam! My DS2 saw me making a preemie hat the other week and has requested a hat and scarf (and gloves:eek:) of his own - in red of course!. DS 1 then requested the same in specific shades of green. I think I am going to have to get on with them despite the fact that it's July because everytime DS2 sees me knitting something he asks if it is his hat. Because I was struggling and getting nowhere with dpns, the other week (pre resolution, for those of you who know about it!) I bought a very short circular hoping to use it for socks, mittens and preemie hats but I think it's still too long for those so I will have to persevere! Going to try a simplish hat pattern for DS2 on the circular now as have managed a toddlerish sized hat.
Don't know what I'm going to do about the gloves......0
