morning all, hope that you are all surviving this bad weather that we are having (although the sun is shining so much in london that i have had to close the curtains in my study so that i can see what i am doing on the computer).

i have come to the conclusion that my hubby is a little selfish, can you believe that he would not let me take my crochet work with me when we went for a walk yesterday, and he thinks i am obsessed! cheeky and true, but i would never admit it to him.

as we are going to france this weekend (to check on progress!!!) i have finished the blanket for the neighbours baby, and have decided that i like it so much i will make myself one some time. it turned out really well.

i am only allowed to take one project with me on this trip (we are only taking hand luggage), so this afternoon i am going to have to make a decision as to which thing it is going to be - one of my exising ones, or a new one... its all so exciting. i have added to my project list the crocheted oxfam jumper (maytaurus kindly found the pattern) and think that that would be a worthwhile idea.

by the way, has anyone used/or know anything about seamail? sandy from square circle suggested that i use that method for sending the squares that i have, to her in south africa. however, i could not find anything on the internet about them - any ideas?

anyway, i need to sort out the house, clean out the fridge and do all those lovely jobs before we leave tomorrow afternoon - so i bid you a lovely day and hugs to all - maytaurus and elaine, special ones to you as we miss you.

    speak to you soon

thanks for keeping us posted...sending Elaine hugs and hoping that while it must have been unbearably sad, but hope that the funeral was a celebration of a life well lived :)
Two friendship squares sent off today...mum on the way...but I suspect lost as she left my office with my keys an hour before me and I got home to no mum, no keys but thankfully a neighbor at home with my spare keys!! Want her to help me do the cabin square as determined to crack it!!

Afternoon ladies - well with little under an hour before I pick my son up Im just finishing off my chill out day! before the holidays begin

Well I think it is mean not to let anyone take knit/crochet out on walk with them ha ha I took mine to park the other day

Welcome Tracey04 - you will love it here beware it holds an addiction warning :rotfl:

Well its been a strange week - there has been confirmed cases of swine flu at my sons school which led to worry between the Mums - Ive been feeling low and anxious since the weekend blurgh!!!! - am soooooo tired anyway perhaps a few lay ins will help _ i should feel lucky though there are worse off than me

My right hand is stiff and achy (must go and get my xrays done smack hand! naughty corner for me) so the memory square has been progressing slowly - but i really enjoyed it and am inspired to do some baby blankets that way - quick question though what am i doing wrong as when i pick up it seems very tight ????? any suggestions - chalky can inspect when she receives it Im sure i have gone wrong :o:o

Anyway must stop whittering - hope everyone not too bad - still thinking of you Elaine - Maytaurus hope you Ok? - chalky hope you have a lovely time in London - prfungi - the mice are wonderful

love and best wishes to all Jaqui xxx

Afternoon everyone, hope you are having a good day.

Welcome Tracey04, you're going to love it here. It's like being wrapped in a loving hug and where there are always friends to help you.

Hope all went ok for Elaine yesterday, she's in my thoughts and prayers.

Happy Birthday mrs money-penny, have a great day.

Well, I have done another row of logs on my square. I'm amazed that I manaaged to do it, and I'm thinking that I may have a go at entrelac sometime in the future. I have some lovely patterns that I've never had the confidence to try. So thank you all for encouraging me to have a go.

It seems very strange without Maytaurus's lovely posts, hope she is ok.

f1widow, I seem to be having the same trouble, I've just tried to stretch it a little bit. I think it takes a few logs to get the hang of the tension. Hope your hand feels better soon.

Chalky, hope you have a good time in London, I'll be pm'ing you for address next week.

Prfungi, thanks for the mice, they would look nice at the end of the year under the tree.
