Hi everyone, hope you are all well today.

Well, I've managed to do my first round of logs on my square yaaaay! It just goes to show you're never too old to learn something new.

Shelley - parcel posted to you yesterday, hope the lacy buntings are ok.

Prfungi - Thanks for the new boob pattern, think i'll give that a go. I had to laugh at your mirror story, I've done it before when I've been out shopping, looked in a window, and thought "Who's that old woman there?", and it was me. :rotfl:

k2tog - glad your Ds is better, and hope your DH is soon also.

Went into Wilkinsons this morning, and they are selling their eyelash and fluffy wools at 25p a ball. :j Well, I HAD to buy some, so hedghogs are on the agenda after I do these squares and sew up some for Shelley.

Hope you all have a good day

K2tog - so glad that your LO is on the mend.

I'm on the last bit of my Memory Square now, then I shall start the smaller one.

I don't know what your weather is like there, but, for the first time in days, we have a hot sunny day; too warm, in fact.

SylviaD - I hope it's a good weekend for you when you take the caravan out.

Maytaurus - hope you are OK?

Well, I've done some work, and some ironing, had my lunch, and now I think I'll do some more knitting.

Hope you are all having a good day.

    morning all
well i thik ive realised where ive gone wrong on the squares the wool i am using is the 25grm balls with 'art of knitting' bands on it doesn't actually say what it is and i fear it may be slightly thicker than DK which is making my squares come up bigger that why ive got less logs than the proper ones but mine are the size asked for so ive made a start on packaging them up and they will be heading down the post office later this morning.

:rotfl:I know what that means Mrs MP - someone hasn't finished their Art of Knitting squares to make a shaker style throw - just like me!

Pam, I've had "mirror moments" too - normally mine are "I'm sure my bum isn't that big!". And as for photos...... I don't like to be confronted with the reality of it!
Shaz don't know why but I always picture you with long dark hair so am revising my mental picture to include the blonde. Isn't it funny how we develop ideas about how people look based on very little and wouldn't it be lovely if our Mioliere would get the retreat up and running so we could all meet and properly put faces to names. Perhaps you need to redirect your DH's efforts to the barn Kathy :D.
Have done the easy bit of the memory square and about to add the first "log" later. Fingers crossed - Oh hold on, that may explain my knitting
Thank you all for your good wishes and hope you are all having better weather than our constant heavy drizzle.

K2tog - I would love my DH to renovate the barn! Sadly, there's the other half of the house to do first, plus he's working, so it may be some time! I hesitate to suggest posting photos of ourselves on here or on the Wooligans. I wonder how many of the pictures we have all built up about each other are actually realistic? Having seen Shezmit on Facebook, she is exactly how I imagined she would look like. We've also seen photos of Chalky, and she also fits the picture I have of her in my mind. It would be interesting if we could all see each other, wouldn't it?

It's blisteringly hot here today, and I think I can hear thunder so I may have to disconnect my Livebox before it explodes.

evening ll, I've been reading this post for awhile and would like to knit some things. Im not brill at knitting, made my children cardigans, mittens etc when they were born. What could I make first from which pattern and who do I send them to? ( I have read beginning of thread but lost on all the different patterns).
    many thanks

Hi Tracey, I have done the same as you, just things for my kids, cardigans & hats etc. I started out doing the Baby Bunting first of all, just the plain one, and found it pretty simple. Then the baby hats are easy too and quite quick to do, and they look cute because they are so tiny. Am sure you are better at knitting than you think. :D
