In Search of Me - I keep the updates just for the charity items and various appeals, but please feel free to post photos of anything else you make, either on here or on the Wooligans site

We love to see what other things are being made!
I have sat down for the last hour and a half with my feet up watching TV(still no real TV here, but I found a two-part freebie DVD of Dr Zhivago - a remake starring Keira Knightley - which is brilliant; I didn't think it would match the Omar Sharif original, but it's just as good in my opinion). I've done about half a Memory Square, and I'm pleased with it so far. I just need to check Chalky's instructions to make sure I'm doing it right, then I need a cuppa. I chose a variegated blue-green wool which I've teamed up with cream.
See you all later.

Hello everyone, hope you are all well today.
I'm going to start a memory square shortly if I can get my head round the pattern. I'm ok at most patterns but this sounds complicated. I'll have a go anyway.
I'm going to start adding my totals next week and then add as I send them off. I've done quite a bit, just never got round to posting here.
Shezmit, do you still want any squares sewing up? I'll sew the ones I have here, do you prefer any particular stitch for joining?

Hello again everybody, spent the day doing washing (yuk) so my ironing mountain will be on show as from tomorow.....I have absolutely NO INTENTION of doing it either! Me and the dogs are knitting, I have finished the friendship square and have made a great start to the memory square, I am putting all my love into it - just as I am sure you all are too.
I would also like to say that the comradery and companionship on here is something truly wonderful and I don't know how I managed prior to joining wooligans.
Mioliere - note for Bastile day - the bangers start at midnight tonight and wear comfortable clothes for the DOO chances are you will be dancing so best high heals are certainly not essential ( I favour trainers myself- but the Bretons do a lot of dancing). Oh and if you thought it was fun doing UK accounts wait till you start on the French tax returns - they take me about a fortnight and I sweat buckets in case I miss something out.
Off to make something to eat, I will hope to get back in here later though as the world is my winkle this week - no one to please but me, heaven. Oh and I have found out that some friends of ours do RENT a GOAT, just got to find the Rent a Horse and life will be complete. yipee

must have a look at the patterns!

HI Pam - thanks for the link. It's such a good way of raising funds for the charity and ensuring we use up our oddments of wool.
I'm still working on my Memory Square and enjoying the pattern.
Jean - thanks for the advice. No fireworks here at the moment. DH has been working and said that there is next to no traffic on the roads - obviously, as usual, France has closed for the bank holiday! Just to let you know that France Telecom seem to have it in for our family. My BIL in the South has recently changed his internet/phone package - time without any connection to the outside world so far? Almost three weeks! He's had to use a phone card to keep in touch.
Hope everyone is having a good evening.

bonjour! My bro is also celebrating bastille day...an excuse for more wine, food and no work me thinks?
Am worried that my totals will be pathetic as (a) new knitter and sloooow (b) still getting the hang of day to day knitting so charity things not as many as most cos I'm learning...just worried that my totals will be totally carp...
Just about to continue my memory square...had to make a bracelt order for a woman in w***Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Tight as (Lucie) your offer is so kind and a snorer no less, but as DH and DS have only just gone following Le Tour my baby dog Valkyrie the small Neopolitan Mastiff has said that she will do the snoring for the foreseeable future, shame really I could be doing with a change – does he cook, clean, garden, DIY etc perhaps we could set us some sort of exchange system.
Prfungie (Pam) absolutely no good sending me the link I have done all the smoothie hats that I could get out of that horrid puce green French wool that said it was double knitting but I am not sure it was. No chance of double knitting till I get back to the UK to buy some and this time I will choose the colour.
Mioliere (Kathy) what a shocker but I suppose I have become immune to the goings on or not of French Telecom – there are a few things that really do get my dander up and the standard of customer care from all sorts of organizations/shops etc is just terrible, my French friends all just accept it too.
In Search of ME I am certainly going for the more wine, food and no work – vive le revolution! Your totals are certainly not pathetic, everybody starts somewhere and most of the folk on here have been knitting for the wooligans since January.
I must admit I don’t think I even like knitting much but I have to do something – I really don’t like to be idle and French TV is the pits. Having learned to knit as a child I promptly forgot all about it but when I stopped smoking I had to do something to keep me occupied and knitting just happened to fit the bill. I do love to sew but feel I should plough on with the knitting at all costs – perhaps one day I might even get good at it.
Shezmit Glad to hear that the aches and pains are away. Hope you had a great time at the wedding and the weather was good for you all.
Nearly half way up the memory square – I would have done more but a neighbour (1 mile away from me) decided that she needed to come and spread all the gossip from the local village as well as invite me to join her for a swift drink tomorrow, I never need to bother with the local newspaper, between her and the post lady I get all the gen first hand!!
Off to lie and read a book, may even pick up the knitting again. OH will whoever nicked my reading glasses last week please return them I am finding it extremely difficult to do close work and the magnifying glass/lamp thingie is a right pain if I fall asleep with it still hovering over the bed – I will bruise my head. Tom Rush – The Remember song, sums me up completely this week.
Night night
