    Hi everyone.
Well we have returned from our first summer trip in the Sunshine Bus. Could tell you the story of sleeping on a mattress which belonged to our elderly aunts Mum who if she was still alive would be 113!!! And the nights were soooo laong with much rolling to the middle and fighting with the lumpy edges. Oh and of course it aws 4 feet wide, wooden headboard and footboard and blankets and sheets but it would make yo feel uncomfortable !!! I do hope Maytaurus is up to finding a picture of DOH and I .

I have just spent a pleasant hour reading through the thread and there are too many wonderful things to mention individually and I would hate to miss anyone out but its lovely to be back in touch with you all. Hugs and gentle thoughts.

On the knitting front---- NO HEDGEHOGS -- Well only 1 snout !!

I have started a blanket pattern which is on operation Lineus. I am loving it and will post some pictures tomorrow as I think you will all like it too!!

Auntie did want me to leave the lapblankets I took to finish in crochet as she is collecting for her church and was so pleased with them so I was glad to swell her funds. Kathy I will add my totals next week !!
Try and do a good deed every day.

HI everyone - woke up early again. It's 4am here, and I am on my second cuppa! I think I woke up because it's so warm here at the moment.

Chalky - welcome back; the trip sounds like fun!! It reminded me of the fun - and not-such-fun - trips we had in our motorhome, when we were househunting in France. We sold the m/home soon after we bought our house, but would like to get another one as soon as we can - freedom of the road and all that! I do remember that the bed was really comfy, though, although my DH wouldn't agree because he was too tall for it!

Pip's Mum - I've added your blanket to the totals on the update. Vent hats are hats that can be opened for scanning, without disturbing the baby. Here are two patterns. They are both easy. There's a crochet one somewhere, too, but, for the life of me, I can't seem to find it. Hopefully, someone else will be along who knows where it is!

    http://preemiesuk.googlepages.com/teacosy.html

Well, yet again, no crocheting for me last night. We finally got DH's brother onto Skype, but has to spend half the night telling him how to do it! My DH is no good with PCs so I had to supervise while they worked out how to see each other - great fun, I don't think so!

Sagaris - I've added your five blankets to the update.

Right, well I think I'll do the update now.

See you all later - when it's daytime!

Just popping in - loads to do today.
Thanks for the update Mioilere - aren't we doing well!
Pipsmum, both the hats are fine but I would say the tea cosy one is easier. Also, the buntings are quite easy to do but I think you need to go to the touching little lives site for the plain bunting as I think preemies site only has a fancier one designed by F1widow. You do not have to line the buntings and Shelley is normally happy to put ribbons in them as long as you knit the holes for them :D. Good luck with it.
  • Like Chalky have spent 2 hours last night and then an other hour this morning catching up - shan't leave it so long in future but it was so lovely to find out how you were all doing. Still no further forward with the barn holiday's yet but I have been sampling the wine list for you all. It would take pages to catch up with you all individually not to mention time involved - would run to about four pages and most of the day. I shall just say that I hope you are all keeping well, having great weather and managing to get on with whatever you are doing. DS has just had another moan that the seats in the camper aren't yet finished and do I realise how pressed for time I will be - OH TELL ME ABOUT IT. School hols started hear on Saturday and I have already had visits from the nearest neighbours two youngest boys - they love to come and try out their English on me...........so I shall be having even more stops from the work in progress, oh but it is lovely tho'.

Moilliere -well done for the updates although I see on the running totals for the Xmas Box Appeals that your total for facecloths reads 18 - but I have already done 22 - don't know about anyone else doing them too? Feel a right heel mentioning it too......Would it help to keep cool by going to the seaside and having a day off and a swim?

    HI all.

Jean - sorry about the facecloth total. Have put it right!

School holidays here start at the end of this week, I think. Our neighbours have two gorgeous daughters, aged 7 and 10, so we'll be seeing a lot more of them, I expect! Our local Mairie is putting on a Fete Populaire for Bastille Day, so we have booked our places. We'll probably find out then if we are the only Anglais in the commune!

For those asking about my 'cow' update the other day, you'll remember that I was worried they'd been given the chop but, having asked the farmer's wife, in my very best French, about them, it turns out they are in the barn for most of the day, keeping out of the heat. I was so relieved - I know they'll have to go one day, but they're safe and enhancing the view, for now.

My 'holiday' barn is nowhere near completion, either, because DH is doing paid work at the moment. I did have to go in there yesterday, because we've mislaid our garden parasol - how can you lose a 6' long box? Still haven't found it.

Pip's Mum - good advice from K2tog about the hats and buntings!

    See you all later.

I love the bunny, thanks. I'll check out that link right now (even though I should be working!)

    Good morning to you all
It is so lovely to be back in touch with you all. I have had a happy morning printing photos that I love taking ready to be cut, mounted and made into cards. I love doing it and they make really good presents which also help!!

As promised pictures of the therapy knitting which has got me away from hedgehogs. Just to show you how bad the addiction had got here is a photo of the latest batch

Here are the first 2 completed squares of the "log cabin" squares. The pattern os on the operation Lineus site and it is really interesting to knit as you cast off and cast on as you knit. Sounds weird but id really interesting to do.
Ok sun is shining so must get on. Have good days everyone all over our world. Gentle thoughts to those with troubles and celebrations to all those feeling life is good.
