Hi Maytaurus - so good to hear from you. Sorry you've not been feeling so good. What a busy time you've had lately. Please congratulate your Mum on her 83rd birthday.
As usual, you've come up trumps with the piccies and links - I was going to have a shower, but I shall look at the links first!
I hope you feel a lot better today, and that your life is less hectic this coming week.

Thanks for reply on patterns.
just looked on Mary Maxim link and found Free Half Zip Pullover Pattern
what wool could I use ( maybe from black sheep as they seem reasonable, but I want as cheap as possible !), like sublime colours and cotton textures
how do you work out if the wool will work in adifferent pattern, without making half of the garment and then realising it is wrong?
also is pattern 2256 sirdar crofter fair isle pattern ( on black sheep) just a knit and purl pattern.
as you have guessed I can only knit easy items, and I've none else to ask before buying the stuff.
one last question found a pattern for a bag but says knit in jute twine?? whats this, is it easy, where do I get it from
thanks again ( sorry dont know how to do links to the patterns)0 -

Hi Tracey - First the Sirdar pattern - lovely isn't it - cover says its an easy knit - according to the website the fairisle effect is achieved by the pattering on the yarn so it should be simple. I love the effect & I'm going to have to buy some just to see.

Now onto the Pullover - again - a lovely pattern and an easy knit - well done for finding it. The yarn used in the pattern is Bernat Softee Chunky - a US yarn which comes in strange size balls so the best thing to do is work on yardage - I've checked out several projects on Ravelry all of which are for the 4yr old (23" chest) and the usage given is 512 yards - one of the projects used Sirdar Denim Chunky! 512 yards = 3 balls. Thats the one I'd go for its a lovely yarn.

By the way - Kemps have some in their sale - plum colour @ 99p per ball.
hope this helps

Hi Everyone
No update from me today as output has been poor what with the SANDS blanket and faffing with the blur!
Shez, how lovely to have a little place for remembrance.
Psso, hope your Dh is not getting too fed up at the hospital and that you are feeling OK.
Pam, glad your Mum is feeling better.
LCWilson, hope things are going better for your tribe.
Maytaurus, fab links as always - thankyou.
In search of me - what a great hat. Was it you that came on here just as you were learning squares? Wow.
Pippa - you are quiet lately - gallivanting again?
Kathy, we haven't had a cow update lately, how are they all? Specially the 2 wonky ones?
Is roamin roamin? Or just busy toiling in the sweatshop?
Hello to newbies :j
I'm continuing with blur top and still unsure as is loopier than i'd like but will continue in case their is a "bigger picture" that I'm just not getting. There is always a huge difference between what I see in my head and what I actually produce :rotfl:. Same with drawing, head- Davinci, on paper-3yr old child it's such a disappointment :rotfl:.
Hope everyone is OK, will probably be behind a teetering pile of ironing this evening unless I ask DH VERY nicely and he might do some.0 -

Well done Pips mum :T. You have done really well, and I love the colours.
Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts. Alan is doing well. He was in hospital for about 5 days - should have only been in for 3 days, but the surgeon nicked his spine during the operation and he had to have the extra couple of days bed rest. He had 3 disks removed and his spinal column widened. Pain was really bad the first couple of days, but he's already up and about cleaning his car etc, so hopefully it's been a great success.
Susan is doing well, and still has a while to go with the chemo.
Mam is bright yellow again, but thankfully no pain :T
Psso: Hope your husband is doing well, and keeping my fingers crossed for his operation.
Shelley: How are you doing? Bruises all gone I hope... try witch hazel, it did wonders for mam when she had her big fall and came out of hospital 2 weeks later just one big black bruise.
Maytaurus: Sorry to hear you haven't been doing so well. Here's hoping for a better week to come.Totals: 30 Buntings, 2 Gowns, 13 Chalky Squares0 -

Hi everyone.
Pip's Mum - your blanket is gorgeous; well done. The colours are lovely, too.
LC Wilson - I'm so pleased that Alan is back at home and well enough to clean the car. That is great news. Good luck to the rest of the family, too.
Shez - hope the bruising goes away soon.
Maytaurus - hope you have a good day today.
K2tog - I think, sadly, that most of 'our' cows have gone somewhere on a one-way ticket! The only ones I can see now are the pregnant, the nursing, and the babies! All the babies seem to be well, so I'm hoping that the 'wonky' ones have been treated. Anyway, they are really enjoying themselves in the field - they graze all morning and sleep all afternoon; they look so relaxed. It's a lovely life for them, even if they eventually end up on the table! There's no passing traffic, so no pollution, and there's nothing around to frighten them. There's a beautiful horse in the next field, and they all seem to meet up now and again, and stand next to each other, as if they're having a chat!
Anyway, I've almost finished a crochet cardigan for my grandchild-to-be. I'll make a couple more, then get on with some preemie items.
I'll update a bit later today.
Hope you all have a great day. The weather here is lovely already, and I've just read that the UK is in for a heatwave, too.
