Yipee Maytaurus is back . Days really are brighter when you are in them !!!

Well I am getting up an hour earlier to make a good start on the wedding things. The weather is soooo beautiful that I am enjoying it in the early (not your kind of early kathy!!!!! ) morning. I am usually very slow on parade !!

Sorry -- but have to admit 1 more hedgehog jumped off the neddles last night and then to swake up to new patterns well -- it is all too much !!

Love to everyone today. Hope peoples problems go quietly away and the sun shines on you all.
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Hello everyone :)

I learnt to knit at the weekend, and thought I'd pop in and say hello! I don't think I'm up to any of the wonderful projects you guys do just yet... But hopefully one day soon I'll be able to knit a square which is the same length all the way round  !!

Sunshinesheli - a warm welcome to you, and congratulations on learning to knit! Just keep practicing with the squares, and you will soon be knitting like a pro! Take a look at the very first post on this thread - there's loads of info and patterns there, as well as some excellent tutorials that our lovely Maytaurus has found for us. If you need any help at all, please feel free to ask on here - there's always someone around to help.

Good morning everyone. I've only been lurking lately as I'm supposed to be getting on with painting the staircase walls:eek:. Shezmit I have the same problem with pains in left hand when I do too much knitting, sometimes changing to a circular needle can help, or crochet instead, anything that changes the repetative position really. My mum had it as well, she knitted until she was 88!

Lovely to see you back Maytaurus, missed you.

I have a dilemma that I would like your opinion on. As I've said before, the preemie stuff I make is taken into a hospital by a neighbour. I was hoping that they would say they wanted more hats, or not so many cardi's etc. but I have no feedback at all (not even thanks but no thanks). Would you still send them, or do you think I should send them to Shezmit instead. Maybe they're not good enough, but I've been making things for 55 years, and most people seem pleased with them and I get plenty of requests. I'd be grateful for your comments.

    Hello everyone,

It's lovely here today, not a cloud in the sky. I love the bright weather as it really cheers me up, I can't sit in though as my skin doesn't like it unfortunatley and I'm full of hayfever.

Maytaurus- Its lovely to see you back, glad you are feeling well enough to post you brilliant pictures and links. Thanks for your kind thoughts/words, means a lot and helps me too.:D

Mioliere - The thought of those spiders frighten me, I hate the way they just suddenly run, all them legs, Aaaagh:eek::eek::eek:

I have a mountain of ironing to do which I don't feel like doing, I'm trying to psyche myself up for this afternoon as school have set up a speech & language course after school for some of the children ds2 being one of them, but as it's home time to him, he doesn't want to stay, third time lucky this week am going into his class just before home time to see if that will work, can't see it though but worth a try, I think!

Anyway enough waffling from me, going to have lunch and knit a bit to calm down, have started on LC's crib pattern. Going well so far.:j

    (((hugs to all)))),:D

i'd try ringing the special care baby unit and asking if they accept hand knitted donations? or explain that you already knit for them but havent been getting any feed back and you really want your knitting to be usful so you aprechiate it if they told you what items they would prefer.

shelly has a list of hospitals that accept things so you could ask her if any hospitals local to you are on it that would save you postage and reasure you that your work is apprechiated and being used

Thankyou mrs-moneypenny, I will pm shelly and ask if that's acceptable to her. No point in paying double postage!
