Blythswoods Christmas Boxes will be part of our next challenge to be launched on 19th July so we will post the list of what is required then - we don't expect anyone to fill and send us complete boxes but it is nice if people pop extra items in when they are sending in their parcels and the girls here at HQ make up the boxes ready to hand to lovely Eric on the Blythswood Lorry when he comes :0)0

Parcel on the way.
Sorry that the ribbons aren't sewn on the cribs, but I had no Carte D'or tubs empty yet. You will need to adjust them and just tack them at the ends.
Also hope the 2 fleece blankets are ok. They aren't fluffy at all, and don't pull to bits easily - yarn is 100% Polyester. Let me know if they are alright please as I got the yarn 200g for £1... enough to make 4 blankets :T If it's ok I'll pick one or two more packs up (or maybe as many as they have)

Hi everyone. Late today; I was busy this morning then, just when I sat down to do the update, we had a terrific thunderstorm, so I had to unplug my Livebox for a couple of hours. Since I put it back on, it's been really slow - probably due to the weather.
I shall try and do the update this evening or tomorrow morning.
Thanks, Maytaurus, for that lovely link. They're really cute, aren't they?
L C Wilson - thinking about you and your family and wishing you all well. Sorry I forgot the two bibs last week. Will make sure they are included this time.
PipsMum - well done on your first hat. It's lovely when you realise what you can achieve.
Mrs Moneypenny - good to see you posting. Hope the decorating is going smoothly! Windsor Castle, eh? No wonder you are proud!
K2tog - I haven't done the sleeper sack but I've looked at the pattern and I think it needs to be quite long to allow for tying at the bottom. Hope this helps - perhaps someone else has made it and will let you know.
Lou - how lovely to hear from you and what a great post. Thank you so much for all the info. I haven't posted much on LH, despite being desperate to get back on, but I try and read it every day. I know healthwise that you have a lot going on in your life, but I'm amazed at how positive you are! I have to remind myself of what a traumatic accident you had, because it does not seem to have held you back at all. You seem as busy as ever; it's as though you just won't let it affect you. I'm sure I'd go to pieces if it happened to me. I am full of admiration for you. Well done on Loving Hands, too; 600 members is amazing.
Well, looking out of the window now, you would not think we'd had such a bad storm. It's calm and sunny with lovely blue sky. I hope it lasts.
Will try and update later today; if not I'll do it tomorrow. I don't want to do it in a rush - I make enough mistakes as it is!
Take care.

I've just been talking to the owner of Kemps today http://www.kempswoolshop.com/?gclid=...FQZOMAodJGu_Yg I am lucky that I live within walking distance and I have the following quote which should interest the yarn addicts
"We have had a 45 foot container wagon this week with loads of new clearance which are not on the site yet . Rowan full ranges of Damask £1.20 ,Alpaca Soft £1.39, Bamboo tape £1.20 and more colors in the cotton D.K. Loads more colors in the jet and caressa D.K. .Also odd colors in many different sirdar yarns.
I hope to start to photographing and putting the details on the site in the next couple of days but there is a full black sack of new lines."
Kemps has been the traditional place to buy wool for three generations of my family, (in fact no, four) my two daughters buy their yarn from here too. This is one of those small businesses that really go out of their way to help customers, whether in person or via the net. I have even known them to phone people who have placed orders over the net to double check items before sending them out and the staff in the shop are always friendly and helpful.
Anyway I thought I'd post this as I know quite a few people on here have had some not so good experiences with other yarn companies and I just hope it helps. Quote .
Of course NONE of US would be interested in any very reasonably priced wool, would we ??
I`ve never succumbed to the temptation of ordering from Kemp`s (YET ! )
but there has to be a first time :T

Hi all, am now back from france, and have to say that progress was non-existent. the painter had not done anything (well not much, probably about an hours work) and then had left a darn big mess all over the floors. the pool man (who is tiling our terrace) was supposed to start on 15/5 had not started, the new start date is 10/6, however, in the meantime, the water that is getting into our basement would fill a swimming pool. it is so damp in the basement that the mould is incredible!
other than that, i am loving the crochet, so much so, that i finished some more items, so, my update for this week is:
10 buntings
3 baby blankets
i am hoping to try out the crochet pattern for the buntings over the next few days, and surprise, surprise, my hubby even suggested that i crochet a blanket for our french neighbour who had a little girl a few weeks ago. any excuse for more crocheting, so i agreed that it was a good idea and am thinking that the ripple blanket might be a nice idea. i have 6 weeks in which to do this, so it should be enough time.
its lovely being back, i missed you all. hugs and wonderful warm wishes to all of you lovely kind people.
