ps any news on the 'knitting retreat' - my bags are packed - 1x carrier wool - 1x carrier undies - 1x carrier hair straigtners (hair a bit wild!) and smellies - please let me know soon cant wait any longer :rotfl::rotfl:

    f1 widow wool. undies,straightners & smellies .........no clothes ?????? :eek::eek:
I couldn`t come on a retreat without clothes - I`d scare the life out of everyone else!!!!!!!!!

Well, I`ve been scoooooooooooping up all the hugs and good wishes you`ve all been kind enough to dish out and feel a bit less stressed and more sociable. Went out for the day with DH and Dd to an archery competition and met up with some friends. Dd usually competes but had an operation on her wrist in December and it`s still causing her pain so she`s still out of action :o not a happy bunny.

One of the girls at the cardiac rehab class has challenged DH - she wants to lose weight before her hols so she bet him that she could lose more than him !!! Hopefully it will spur him on a bit, he`s aready lost the stone that the surgeon said he had to lose, but he`s stuck at the same weight for the last 3 weeks. Back on to the rabbit food again ;) shame I`ll have to eat all the biscuits eh?

Well, I didn`t realise we were going to be away all day and I didn`t take my knitting - just thinking how much I could have done makes me mad:mad:
so going to get the needles back on track tonight, they`re stone cold right now but I`ll soon get them warmed up again.

    Bye for now.

PM me too Ann - and good luck for the weather tomorrow.

Have just sat down after taking DS1 to a party - exhausted now!
Have finally finished my rafia cardigan and sewed it up today due to rubbish weather (so I guess that was my silver lining!) and I'm really pleased with it - it fits :j and looks pretty good says DH. Always very chuffed when I actually finish a "big" (something not for preemies!) project! It will also mean I can put it in my wardrobe and it won't be taking up stash space. However, I am sure that the vastly reduced stash pile will cause anxiety and I will bow to my addiction and end up with more :o.
Going to do something little (probably a bunting) and then a bit more to my SANDS blanket this evening.
I also remember doing the wool winding with my Nan but she didn't knit much as she wasn't so keen but was a whizz on the sewing machine - same hair here also!
Still waiting for my baby brain to go Pipsmum and my youngest is 3 1/2!

Think you've got problems - mine's 35 :rotfl:or............. perhaps i've swapped my baby brain for my blonde one??

I used to be 'dark blonde' aka 'mousey' I'm now a natural "platinum" hee hee ! - I used to tell my hairdresser I was growing my own highlights as his were too expensive, I now have highlights all over!

    Hi all.

Linedancerann - best of luck for today. Would love to sponsor you; I'm waiting for a new UK chequebook so please pm me and I'll send a donation when it arrives. Hope the weather is good for your run!

    Jean - look what I've found! http://www.equinerescuefrance.org/2.html.

Well, ripple blanket almost finished. If I could somehow find more than an hour a day to sit down, I'd have finished it by now. I'm hoping that by next week, DH will have steady work and I can organise my time better.

I shall update tomorrow morning for this week. I shall try and get everyone's totals right, too!

It seems to have rained non-stop since yesterday morning - I hope it clears up soon. It's still warm, but that's not the same as sunny!

K2tog - would love to see a photo of your cardie, either on here or Wooligans! It's good to see what others have been making.

Well, I fancy another cuppa. Fortunately, now that my huge supply of PG Tips has run out, I've found some English Tea bags made by Tetley's, which are almost as good. The French teabags seem to have no tea in them! Their coffee is great, though, so you can't have everything.

    Will call in later.

Hi everyone - this weeks update is...

    4 burial buntings
    2 Angel pockets

What type of burial stuff do the hospitals prefer?

    cheers
