Hi everyone - hope your weather is as gorgeous as ours! Warm, sunny, cloudless blue sky - in fact, I've prescribed it for all knitters!

I'm just about to do the update. Sorry it wasn't done yesterday - I just didn't seem to get a minute to myself. I didn't get any crocheting done, either, because I got roped into clearing up branches from a tree DH has pruned, and then we watched the farmer next door baling his hay - it's all go here in the French countryside!

LC Wilson - I hope you and your family are OK?

Maytaurus and Pam - (((hugs))) to your Mums. I saw mine on my sister's Skype yesterday. It's the first time she's seen Skype in use and she was really impressed with it! She settled back into the sofa, having cups of tea brought to her by my sister, and didn't stop talking for an hour and a half! She only moved a few days ago and she looks so relieved now that all the hassle is over, and she's being spoilt by the rest of the family!

Anyway, hope you all have a great day. Update in next post! Thank you all so much for all your items. Chalky - did you find names for all the hedgies? That's an amazing total. Same goes for Jean's ST pads - fantastic amount. Just imagine how welcome they'll be. Jean - I've just found your email - thanks; I'll email you later today. Hope your life has calmed down a bit!

  • Good afternoon everybody, fantastic totals for the week – we are all doing great eh? Sun is out and its a lovely day here, hope you are all getting some of it too.
I am sure I have caught that compulsive disorder that Chalky has with the hedgehogs…... I can't seem to walk away from the sewing machines and the ST's, I will try harder to get back to some proper knitting during this week, even if its only the machine facecloths or some more dog blankets.
Maytaurus, I am glad you found me a bumble bee with more arms - I really do need them at present, I shall also have a go at that knitted cotton hat...it will certainly keep the sun of my nose and perhaps it will stay on better than the old bashed up straw hat I have at present – the colour choices here are mint green and purple (the same as the facecloths), so that will look stunning don't you think?
Off for my lunch, then I have some curtains to change THEN I can do some knitting – said she hopefully.

    Hi everyone

Have (predictably!) put the socks aside as have reached the scary "grafting" bit - but I have found and saved some instructions for how to do it so will get on with that when I have some time to concentrate properly. I've got everyone at home ill today :( so tied to the house. Have done some more bits for Shelley's box and have now decided to start a SANDS blanket which I am sure I will regret judging by everyone elses comments that it is endless - I will persevere!
Chalky, we went past Broomhill on the way to a campsite near Woolacombe for our week away.
Mioliere I seem to have 3 extra buntings on the update list - can't remember the numbers but sig is correct. I will try and rearrange my sig as others have done. Good to see you back on LH!
Off to tend to my sick ones.....

Kathy - sorry but there is a small mistake on my totals.
It should read 16 squares NOT 8 SQUARES AND 8 AARON SQUARES

(not a major mistake, the total is still the same after all)

    Thanks

    Ann. xx

Weather is lovely here, hope everyone is having the same.!!
    Totals 2009 - 128 items
    Totals 2010 -118 items
    Totals 2011 - 168 items
    2012 - 6 kids beanies; 1 scarf; 1 pr fingerless mitts; 1 cowl; 1 adult hat

    Hi everyone
Gorgeous weather here -- so beautiful. We have taken over dog walking duties for my nephew at the moment and it was great today as dog is just so lovely and relishes her walks

TightAs-- So glad everything went so well. I hope you have a calmer week than I did after the wedding. It felt as if I was on an emotional rollercoaster -- from joy to tears and no reasoning or explaining either !!! Feel much better this week. Mums and their boys !!! and girls for that matter !!

Mioliere --- You sound really settled and happy so I hope that is a true picture of things and that your French life is working out well.

Roamin -- Better to have it with the ST's than hedgehogs ( Yes there is half a one on my lap as I type !! )

k2tog---- Isn't North Devon beautiful -- I hope you had a lovely time at Woolacombe

We are off to our local College this evening for a 4 course meal-- Its part of the students training so I am really looking forward to it. Haven't tried it before but I think it will be brilliant and I love being around young people.

Hope everybodies kneedles are clicking, hooks are twirling and blankets etc are rippling.

Hugs if you are down, alone, poorly or just sad and congratulations if you are celebrating
Try and do a good deed every day.

Hi everyone and sorry for the mistakes in the update. I'll sort them out later this evening. I think the sun has gone to my head!

Tight As - I'm so glad the wedding went well - and what gorgeous weather you had. Can't wait for the photos. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Chalky - you're so right about Mums and their boys! It's such a special thing, isn't it? You bring them up to become fine young men, and when they become those fine young men, it melts your heart! I've not had daughters but I can imagine the feeling is the same. I know how I feel about my DGD! As for settling in France, I am feeling quite settled now that we are getting organised in the house, but I still miss the family dreadfully. When we go back in August to meet our new grandchild, I don't know how I'll feel about having to say goodbye again. I love France and the house, though. I just wish it was all in the UK!

I spoke to DS2 and mother-to-be DIL on Skype last night. She looks very very pregnant now - she's thirty weeks on Saturday. The baby is kicking like mad - they're both fascinated by it all. She looks wonderfully healthy and DS2 is taking good care of her.

DH has done his back in today, so at least I'm not being roped into helping him DIYing or anything like that. He is quoting on a couple of jobs for next week, hopefully. When he starts working regularly, I shall be able to organise my time a lot better than I can now. I just hope his back gets better soon.

Anyway, has anyone heard from LC Wilson? I'm sure I haven't seen a post from her for quite a while.

Thanks to Jean (Roamin in the gloamin) and her techie son's advice, I have been able to log in to Loving Hands, at long last. Thanks, Jean - you're a star. Haven't seen any homeless mice yet, despite the farmer next door baling hay like mad!

Anyway, off to dish up the dinner.

    Take care
