Only Girl - I'm doing the ripple blanket at the moment; it's for my grandchild-to-be, so I'm doing it in between crocheting hats and booties for Preemies. For something that turns out so well, it's such an easy pattern - after just a few rows, you won't need to consult the pattern. I'm doing mine in white, pink, lemon and blue - all baby colours, with four rows of each colour to a stripe, and every coloured stripe followed by a white one. It's taking me ages because I can only sit down for an hour or so each evening but, if I didn't have work to do, I think I'd find it really quick. So far, I'm really pleased with it.

Maytaurus's posts are wonderful, aren't they? She always finds the perfect picture for any occasion, and she's amazing at finding new patterns and so on. Three cheers for Maytaurus!

Maytaurus, thanks for your glorious post - it was a lovely greeting this morning - hope your Mum is well today
My Mum is good today - ate a small breakfast (yippee) and is feeling a bit happier - I showed her some baby hats I made with the leftover wool from her shawl (which she was wearing) - she was tickled pink! - its such a relief.

Blessings to all our Mums - may their guardian angels watch over them!

    luv

Hi all. Prfungi - thanks for the good wishes for my Mum. The move has gone well, but she is exhausted, what with all the packing and making arrangements for the utilities and so on. Luckily, she is now only 10 minutes away from my sister and BIL, which makes me feel a lot happier about being so far away from her. I'm so pleased that your Mum has managed to eat. You must feel a lot happier now.

I hope this week's wedding goes well for everyone. Looks like good weather!

Well, I'd better go and clear up the dinner things.

    See you all later.

    Hi everyone:hello::hello::hello:
So glad things are going so well with the Mums. :A I have only to type the word and it makes me smile. We put 1 of the bridesmaids bouquets on my Mums grave. She would have been so proud.

Maytaurus -- So lovely to see you posting you really have become the hinge( who wants to be the bracket????? ) of our group. I hope things are a bit easier for you at the moment.

TIGHTAS -- YES !!!!!! The weather forecast looks wonderful so I hope you have a super day---- I WANT TO DO IT AGAIN !!!! Dear Son and DIL ( no need for the 2B bit !!!! ) are due home tomorrow. So will be pleased to hear their news.

Mrs Moneypenny , Roamin and all the other sewers -- What stars to do so much sewing -- I used to love it but hate it now -- Dont know why, but your efforts sre going to be so appreciated

DOH gone to Weymouth to have a boys weekend for the Cup Final so some serious craft work going on here--- all spread out like I like it-- the opposite of what he likes !!!

If you are lurking and need a hug, plenty here, there and everywhere on this thread. Please dont feel alone if you need a shoulder.

Knitting -- I think I have an obsessive disorder-- strange little things jump off the end of my needles. Keep wanting to try a ripple blanket cos it sounds fun. Will get there but hedgehogs and gonk like things rule at the moment!!

    Enjoy the sunshine everybody xxx
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Hee hee! I'm first!! :p

ok, I didn't deliberately stay up to say that! just been lurking. :o

I have done another Super Stretchy Hat and I have done two pairs of baby bootees and two pairs of baby mittens to match my two baby hats!

And I have started a ripple blanket without the ripples (if that makes sense) I will be brave later on and try a proper ripple blanket. But I am enjoying doing it as it makes a change from doing the square version and it is a learning experience for me too to try and improve my crochet beyond squares. :o

Hope everyone is well. :D I will be packaging it all up shortly to send off. Thought I should send what I have sooner rather than later so it can be of some use hopefully.

    This week so far! :D

    1 baby hat
    2 pairs baby bootees
    2 pairs baby mittens
    6 Aaron Squares

Good morning all. Thanks for the updates so far.

DON - when you do your weekly update, could I ask you to highlight the items and quantitites in red, please? It makes it so much easier for me to notice when I'm reading through the posts to do the update. You're doing really well with all your items. The pattern for the ripple blanket is really easy; when you start it, do a small test piece first so that you can see how the stitches work to form the pattern. Good luck with it - it's a really satisfying pattern to do. I'm going to make my Mum a couple of cushion covers for Christmas, using the same pattern.

Well, no knitting or crochet for me today because DH and I are helping friends to set up their regular bi-monthy quiz night. They live about thirty miles away so we'll be staying the night (means we can have a glass or three of Vino Collapsio!) It's a great evening with a meal, plenty of the local vino and good company. Our team - Brits and Pieces - came second last time, so we're hoping to do better this time. It's a good laugh and raises funds for the local cat protection league. People can also take along books they no longer want; they sell for 1 euro each, which also goes to the charity. Books for the ex-pats here are like currency, so everyone gets a chance to restock their libraries.

The weather is supposed to be gorgeous here for the whole weekend. Once we're back home tomorrow, we shall go to the Fete de Pentecote in the town, which has practically been taken over by all the stalls, fairs and so on. The atmosphere when we popped down yesterday was electric, with live music and so on.

Lots of (((hugs))) to all the Mums who have been unwell or anxious lately - I hope they all have a great weekend. Our weekend will be longer than usual because it's yet another bank holiday on Monday. We've had loads lately, but that will be the last one until Bastille Day on the 14th July - we're really looking forward to that one.

Anyway, I've waffled so I'm off to put the kettle on again!

Hope you all have a great weekend. I'll try and pop back before we set off later today for the quiz night.

Morning all - firstly my update which is poor, but is as follows:

    17 squares (8" x 8")
    1 premie baby blanket

And by the way, i love crochet, and cant wait to do more stuff, however, i am going to have to learn all the stitches and how to read a pattern, but that should not be too bad!!!

we are off to france again today to check on progress, and hopefully enjoy some of the lovely weather. i have heard from a friend that the chap who is supposed to be sorting out our terrace - has not started, that means if it leaks again, it will be like niagara falls in there again. it is so damp under the house that the doors have gone mouldy - and interesting mould it is too - lovely colours and stuff.

oh well, have a wonderful day, and pam, about those guardian angels, i believe in them too, and hope that they stay very close.

    hugs
