Hi Lorna – what a lot you’re coping with just now, a very stressful time for you. ((Hugs))
My mum had her gallbladder removed 3 years ago – it was a worrying time for us all, but she came through it quite well – a slow but good recovery.
I’m sure your Mum is very nervous about going in to hospital please give her my good wishes.
Visited my Mum today & did her hair so she was a bit more cheerful when I left her.
Flu has only 1 remedy – plenty of hot toddies, Vaseline, loads of cuddles and your favourite comfort food.
If you were closer I’d happily provide the hot toddies & a cuddly blanket + dog cuddles up quite nicely, as it is I leave you with the thoughts winging through the ether……
luv

morning all, hope that you are all well. Lorna, a big hug to you, you really do have a lot to deal with. I am now quite ashamed that i woke up in the middle of the night feeling sorry for myself! You have so much to deal with and you still find the time to do charity stuff - you are in inspiration to us all.
chalky - thanks for the photos, they were wonderful and everyone looked so happy, it makes me want to be able to have my wedding day all over again. with regards the "try to make it go slow and enjoy every minute" - i think that is the best advice in the world. mine seemed to fly by.
ladies, its official - i am hooked. i wanted to crochet a blanket using all of my scraps of wool, so, i looked on youtube (as some of you had suggested) and followed the young mans instructions, and hey presto, my doggie blanket is about 5" long now! i am so excited, i didn't want to go to bed last night, i just wanted to continue. anyway, its a new thing for me as i only remembered how to make granny squares and now i can make a "side to side" blanket.
anyway, enough of my babbling, have a wonderful day all, and hugs to those who need them. thank you all for being here, it does make my day!

Good Morning everybody. I am sending very special gentle wishes to all who are a bit down at the moment. I read the thread and sometimes feel that I want to put my hands through the screen and give people a big hug.
I have lost my parents and a brother at 54, and I do know life can be very difficult, and it is so hard to find that rainbow sometimes. Cliches are funny things but so true-- " Time is a healer " I think of everyone we have lost and who we miss so much and time seems to stand still framed by a happy memory . It has ceased to cripple me in pain, which may have only been momentary, and always at unexpected times, and now I actually feel them very close to me. Almost that I had to let them go before they could come back.
Hugs also to those who are doing such brilliant jobs at looking after loved ones. So hard at times.
On a happier note if you are celebrating have the best of days.
I still am finding it impossible to embark on a larger projecteven though I want to -- mind still in a whirl. So I managed a couple of crazy gonk like creatures last night.
I AM going to start a crochet balanket tonight. I am home on my lonesome this weekend as DOH goes off every year for a weekend of wall to wall football !!

Good morning all - quite grey here but at least the wind has dropped. Just started my second cup of coffee so I'm nearly awake now:j
Have look at Annies Attic again - today is another kiddies blanket but the exciting bit is a fantastic crocheted applique for a big train - its wonderful.

Hi Everyone,
weather is a little better here today, not raining but cloudy.
Chalky- you have a lovely way with words, wish i could express how i feel like you do.
Lcwilson- sending big ((hugs)) to you and your family, you have so much to worry about. The skin condition sounds awful.
prfungi- thanks for the link to annies attic, have printed a copy off, I will attempt it when I feel more confident at crochet, not been doing it long.
dpixie- sounds like your doing really well with crochet, I had a look on youtube as well but they just seem to go so fast I can't keep up. i gave up and bought a book instead.
Sending happy thoughts to everyone, have a good day all.:D:jWooligans Totals 2010:

Hi everyone - late again for me. I've been trying to get on here all morning but DH is in the middle of plasterboarding in the hallway, and keeps asking me to help! I know he needs a hand now and again, but does it have to be every time I start something?!
Pam - that pattern is gorgeous! Thanks for the link.
LC Wilson - sending lots of (((hugs))) to you and your loved ones. A worrying time for you all.
Chalky - your words of comfort are wonderful. We've had a lot of sadness in our family over the years and you're right, time does heal. You never forget the pain, but time makes it easier to bear. It's a good day when you can remember the happy times without feeling so sad.
Special gentle (((hugs))) to all who have sadness or worry in their lives.
Well, I've done a hat and some booties, and I'm going to have a look at all Maytaurus's pattern links to find something else to do.
Maytaurus - where are you? I hope you and yours are well?
Jean - ever since you said I was good at the quiz, you've been beating me! Finished your barn yet?!
The weather is a bit grey here today, but we've been promised a good weekend of sunshine. I hope the UK gets the same.
Well, I'd better go and do some lunch.
See you all later.
